Bobo Social Elephant and Castle Breakfast

It was a sunny morning, so we decided to stroll down to Bobo Social Elephant and Castle for breakfast. We had passed by a few days ago and noticed tables and chairs outside the restaurant for alfresco dining. Boho Social Elephant and Castle is on Sayer Street, the new foodie destination in SE17. The area has been undergoing a massive regeneration project, which looks near completion. With thousands of new homes, there will be a significant demand for places to eat. Bobo Social caters for meat-eaters, vegans and vegetarians with their breakfast, brunch and lunch menus. If you are looking for restaurants in Elephant and Castle, places to eat on Sayer Street or breakfast in SE17, you should check out Bobo Social.

“Hang out in the new foodie heart of Elephant and Castle and enjoy an alfresco breakfast at Bobo Social, the friendly neighbourhood restaurant serving up all your favourite food.”

Bobo Social Elephant and Castle Breakfast Menu

I ordered the Full Bobo Vegetarian Breakfast, which was quite something. The plate was brimming with two vegan sausages, potato hash, a mushroom, herbed tomato, Cracklebean eggs fried (well done), plus a pot of beans and two slices of sourdough toast. The vegan sausages were tasty and different from the standard Linda McCartney offering most places provide. It is a substantial breakfast that is mighty filling, so ensure you are hungry if you order it. Vegans can swap eggs for avocado. Meat eaters can opt for the Full Boho Breakfast with pork sausages, British bacon and all the other ingredients I mentioned for the veggie version.

Homeboy chooses the Shakshouka, a spiced tomato and pepper sauce surrounding baked eggs and a couple of pieces of sourdough toast. He gave it the thumbs up, so it must have been good. I heard him mention that it was pretty spicy in between mouthfuls.

Other breakfast options are the BLT, which includes smoked bacon, gem lettuce and roasted tomato inside buttered sourdough bread. The smashed avocado is an excellent choice for vegans. Sides include Thick Cut Chips or Sweet Potato Chips with Truffle Salt. Croissants, Pain au Raisin, Natas, Muffins and House Granola with thick Greek yoghurt and berries are available. Add coffee, tea or freshly squeezed orange juice to finish your breakfast.

The weekend brunch menu is more extensive with Eggs Benedict, Florentine or Royal, Steak with Eggs, Peanut Butter Burger or Buttermilk Pancakes. We tried making Eggs Florentine and Buttermilk Pancakes at home during the COVID lockdown, and I’d be happy to pay for a professional to make those for me!
