Food Review: Genesis Restaurant. For 100% plant based fast food head for the Genesis Restaurant located on Commercial Road, Spitalfields London. It’s like a trippy, hippy hang out for vegans, vegetarians and their friends.
“I loved this fast food joint where the music has you humming, the food has you licking your fingers and lips and the décor makes you smile,” Homegirl London.
Genesis Restaurant Plant Based Menu
I wanted to eat everything on the menu, it all sounded tempting. I can honestly say that every dish we ordered was super tasty so a big thumbs up from us! We started with the Nachos from the Street Dishes section. The Tortillas were smothered in Chipotle Mayo, Pico De Gallo, Sour Cream, Guacamole, Jalapeños, Cashew Nacho Cheese and Coriander. These were the best Nachos I’ve ever eaten and it was a descent size!
We also tried the Fried Avocado Taco which was cute and delicious. Other Tacos included Jackfruit Hoisin and New York Deli made with Seitan Pastrami. Salads include Caesar with Seitan Chicken, Duck Salad with Jackfruit ‘Duck’ and Som Tom. The Pho Soup was made with Shiitake Broth which is perfect for cold London days.

They sell a range of Burgers, Hot Dogs and Sandwiches. The Korean Street Sandwich features Panko Aubergines, Kimchi, Thai Basil Mayo, Cucumber, Sticky BBQ Sauce and Sriracha in a Brioche Bun. We tried the Genesis Burger with Gherkins, Tomato, lettuce, Cheddar Cheese, Red Onion and Garlic Mayo in a soft Brioche Bun. I’ve eaten a lot of meat free burgers and this is definitely in my top three. Add French Fries, Sweet Potato Fries or Kimchi Fries, Cheese Sticks or Kamut Mac N Cheese and you’ll be very happy!
We were full so sadly missed out on dessert. You can get a sweet fix of Brownie with ice cream, an ice cream sundae or soft serve with different toppings. Sticky Toffee Pudding, Chocolate Hazelnut Cheesecake and Blueberry Bread and Butter Pudding were also available. Desserts are £4.95-11, Tacos ££5-5.50, Burgers 10.95-11.95, Sandwiches £9.50-9.96, Dogs £10.75-11.50. They serve organic Cocktails, Milkshakes, Smoothies, Juices and a few Mocktails.
Genesis Restaurant Spitalfields London Interiors
The décor is fun, flirty and fabulous. The interiors have a San Francisco / LA vibe with pink tiles, neon lights, cactus plants and comic book light box signage on the walls. The upstairs is light and airy. They also have a basement with seating should the ground floor be busy. I enjoyed eating there and would definitely go back again … very soon!
