Suvlaki Greek Restaurant Brick Lane Shoreditch

Homegirl London’s Food Review: Suvlaki Greek Restaurant. The co-founders of this restaurant are from Athens so they naturally have a focus on Greek street food for the menu. Suvlaki means little skewer or stick in case you were wondering. If you’re looking for Greek street food in London, Greek restaurants in Shoreditch or places to eat in Brick Lane, head over to the Suvlaki Greek Restaurant in East London.

Suvlaki Greek Restaurant Menu

The menu features meat, poultry, seafood and veg skewers which are served on their own or in a pita wrap. Homeboy opted for the Spicy Prawn Skewer which arrived on a bed of crispy kale with aioli and harissa dip. Meanwhile, I tucked into the Mastelo and Veg Wrap with super grains, rose aioli and pomegranate. Both were delicious and super tasty! Other options were Corn Fed Chicken, Gloucester Old Spot Pork, Mount Olympus Wild Boar, Aged Scottish Texel Lamb or Pulled Pork. Or you can try the Mussels with giant couscous, Moussaka, Chicken Kebab or Spicy Lamb Chops.

Dine with a group of friends, and you can share a selection of small plates. We tried the Mediterranean Baked Feta, which was good. The feta was sprinkled with oregano and parsley before baking and came with a few cherry tomatoes for good measure.

The Courgette Fritters were lovely with smoked Applewood cheddar inside. Other veggie small plates included Mixed Mushroom Sauté, Wilted Kale and Cheese Nibble which is grilled Mastelo. They also had Olive and Citrus Wood Smoked Eel and Sage Smoked Siglino (pork).

If you have room try one of the desserts. We went for the Baklava Trio with ice cream, and even though we were quite full, I’m glad we tried it! Alternatively, you might find a wild honey cheesecake, chocolate biscuit cake or chocolate truffles on offer.

Suvlaki Greek Restaurant Interiors

Restaurant Interior

The restaurant interiors are quite dark with distressed grey-blue painted walls and ceiling. The decoration is in the form of wrought iron room dividers. The floor is half black and white tiles which merges into concrete material. It’s an intimate space so you can snuggle up with your lover. The open kitchen is towards the back so you can smell the food being cooked before it arrives at your table.
