Restaurant Review: Amber Restaurant. This place is perfect if you’re looking for salads in E1, Mediterranean food in Aldgate or restaurants near Aldgate Curzon. Amber Restaurant is brilliant for office workers located in this part of East London.

Amber Restaurant Lunch Menu
The focus here is on Eastern Mediterranean cuisine inspired by the Amber Road, an ancient trade route from the coastal areas of the North Sea and the Baltic Sea to the Mediterranean Sea.
Carrot Juice with Ginger
This is a great place to visit for lunch if you love salads. You can choose a plate of three or four which include Miso Glazed Aubergine, Roasted Carrot, Kale with Baby Potatoes, Balsamic Beetroot, Tabbouleh and more. You can opt for a plate with a portion of Frittata, Courgette Fritters, a Chicken Chop, Meatballs or Blackened Trout. This comes with a choice of two or three salads. We tried the Courgette Fritters which were tasty, and the salads are superb.
Courgette Fritters and Salad
You might want to try one of the Turkish pizzas which are a Pide. The options are Shakshuka with baked tomato, pepper ragout, egg and merguez (sausage). The Traditional features minced lamb, peppers, onions, tomato and parsley. Chorizo has caramelised onions, rocket, cherry tomato and goats’ cheese. The vegetarian Pide is Aubergine with basil, feta, roasted peppers and a dash of chilli. We ordered the veggie option which was excellent, made with great ingredients, tasty and very filling.
Aubergine Pide
They also serve Pita Burgers filled with 14 Hour Lamb Shoulder which is flavoured with sumac onion, Turkish peppers and tahini. The other option is the Crispy Chicken Thigh with kimchi and harissa mayo. Add a side of Hummus Salsa, House Fried Potatoes or Sourdough with mango and honey butter. To give you the idea of price points Salads are £9 for 2, Pita Burgers £7-8, Pide £6-8 and Plates are £12-13 with 2 or 3 salads.
Cakes
Check out the cakes at the counter which looked very tempting. Healthy Smoothies include Green Light which is cucumber water with spinach, spirulina, avocado, banana and bee pollen. Orange, Apple and Carrot fresh juices are available with an optional shot of lime or ginger. Coffee is by Monmouth which is one of my favourites. Overall, this is a great lunch menu for anyone working in the vicinity.
Amber Restaurant Interiors
Restaurant Interior
The interiors are bright, spacious and contemporary. The décor has a Scandinavian feel with light wood dining tables and chairs with high back slatted benches. Lush plants hang from ceilings and rest on plant stands to bring a touch of greenery to the place. I enjoyed our visit and the food, it felt relaxing and chilled in the restaurant.
