Halfcup Barts Square Brunch Menu

I loved the brunch menu; it has everything you want and more. We shared three dishes, starting with the Sweetcorn and Herbs Pancake. These were beautiful and fluffy cute sweetcorn pancakes with a miso and corn puree on the side and tiny dots of salsa verde. We omitted the prosciutto but added a poached egg. It was presented on a pretty pink plate, making it look extra adorable.

We also tried the Loaded Sourdough Toast, which was piled high with summer squash, courgettes, olives and pine nuts on top of whipped feta spread over the toast. We loved the simplicity and exceptional taste. Other toppings on toast included avocado with fresh tomatoes and courgettes ribbons or heirloom tomato salad with goat’s cheese mousse and tomato consommé with basil oil. If you want to keep things simple, you may enjoy the eggs on sourdough, which you can have fried, scrambled or poached.

If you are starving, you may want to order the Full English, which has everything you’d expect; streaky smoked bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, hash browns, baked beans and fried eggs. The vegetarian version has grilled halloumi and avocado instead of the meat. Another option is to have your bacon and fried egg in a bun with avocado, tomatoes, cheddar and jalapeno salsa. The Hash Benedict with poached eggs and a choice of smoked salmon, cured ham or halloumi with a herb hollandaise was tempting.

After our savoury dishes, we fancied something sweet, so we treated ourselves to the Summer Dutch Baby. Wow, it looked amazing and tasted just as good. The blueberry cream with lemon and lavender syrup was yummy. The other sweet option was Oreo French Toast with Nutella cream, fresh berries and strawberry coulis. Breakfast dishes cost £6-12.
