I enjoyed a delightful breakfast at Peyton and Byrne in Greenwich, London SE10. I recently discovered that this contemporary British bakery offers a cosy refuge, especially on a rainy day. Their menu features a variety of simple yet tasty options made up by the staff serving at the counter. It includes Fruit and Granola Bowls, Porridge, Breakfast Sandwiches and Sourdough Toast with toppings. Peyton and Byrne will appeal if you’re seeking relaxing breakfast places in Greenwich, cafes near the Cutty Sark, or bakeries in SE10.
“Cute modern British bakery in the heart of Greenwich serving some yummy breakfast bites, lovely lunch and plenty of sweet treats,” Homegirl London.
Peyton And Byrne Breakfast Menu
Peyton and Byrne’s breakfast menu includes Organic Greek Yogurt with Nutty Granola and Seasonal Fruit, Bircher Muesli with Raspberries and Berry Compote, and a standalone Seasonal Fruit Salad. I chose their Porridge with Vanilla Poached Pears, which was comforting. They also offer Porridge with Honey and Banana or Berry Compote. The Breakfast Bowl prices range from £6.50 to £7.50.
Their Things on Toast options include Nut Butter with Sliced Bananas and Pumpkin Seeds, which I tried and would recreate at home. Otherwise, it’s Organic Scrambled Eggs (plain or with Smoked Salmon) and Smashed Avocado with Tomato Salsa, Feta and Mint. The prices for these range from £6.20 to £9.80.
For a savoury start, they offer Breakfast Sandwiches such as Maple Cured Bacon Doorstop Sandwich and a Chopped Egg with Spring Onion. Warm up with the Sourdough Toastie oozing with three kinds of cheese, Tomato Chutney and Spring Onion. These are priced between £4.90 and £7.20.
Take advantage of their tempting selection of cute Cakes, perfect for an early afternoon treat (they close at 3 pm). Their Cakes include flavours like Pear and Ginger, Coffee and Walnut, and wonderful Whole Cakes like Victoria Sponge and Jaffa Cake. They also offer an array of tempting Tarts, including Bakewell and Treacle.
If you miss breakfast, lunch is a selection of Salads with a Savoury Tart, Marinated Roast Chicken or Roasted Salmon Fillet, and Sausage Roll. Alternatively, you can try one of the Sandwiches or Sourdough Toasties.
