We needed to escape the drilling noise from building works outside our flat, so we headed to Franzé and Evans on Redchurch Street, London E2, for a relaxed Monday brunch. It’s an Italian-inspired café-deli serving modern brunch dishes, homemade food, and artisan coffee. If you’re looking for one of the best brunch spots on Redchurch Street or breakfast in Shoreditch, this café is an excellent choice. I’ve dined there on several occasions over the years and have always enjoyed my visit.

Franzé And Evans Brunch Menu
The weekday breakfast and brunch menu offers a variety of options for egg enthusiasts. You can enjoy eggs prepared in three ways: poached, fried, or scrambled, served on a toasted country loaf. Or heat things up with their chilli scrambled eggs. If you’re starving, the F&E breakfast features eggs, streaky bacon, sausage, borlotti beans, mushrooms, and avocado. They also serve Turkish eggs, accompanied by charred tomatoes, poached eggs, garlic yoghurt, and melted maras chilli oil on sourdough toast. There’s also nduja on toast with eggs and salsa verde. Egg dishes range from £7 to £14.50.
There’s also a wide selection of non-egg savoury dishes. My partner got stuck into a vegan breakfast, which included braised borlotti beans, thyme and garlic mushrooms, roasted tomatoes, avocado, and a potato cake. Other options include smoked salmon on rye with dill and ricotta, avocado on toast with chilli, a BLT brioche with bacon and pepper mayo, or seasonal mushrooms sautéed with garlic and thyme on toast. Savoury dishes cost between £7.50 and £12.50.
I ordered the French toast with banana, blueberries, and maple syrup. The bread was thick and soft, perfectly soaked, and gently sweet with plenty of syrup. There’s also house granola with Greek yoghurt, berries, and passion fruit syrup. Make sure you check out the beautiful cakes and pastries on display at the counter. Sweet options range from £8.50 to £11.50.
If you drop by later in the day, a lunch menu will be available until 3.30 pm. I’ve previously enjoyed their parmigiana, but you might prefer to try their ravioli, gnocchi, or arancini. Their quiches and salads look tempting. Lunch dishes range from £10.50 to £14.00.
Franzé and Evans serve excellent coffee made with beans from Costa Rica and Honduras. They also serve Chai by Mira, which features coconut sugar, turmeric, and warming spices. Or treat yourself to one of their cocktails, including Bacon Bloody Mary and Espresso Martini.

The café’s interior is laid-back, featuring black walls, a black and white tiled floor, and chandeliers that cast a warm glow. The counter is laden with tempting cakes and pastries, creating a welcoming atmosphere, perfect for brunch, lunch, or coffee. There’s also outdoor seating at the front and side, ideal for watching the hustle and bustle of Redchurch Street.
