Checking Out The Super Comfy Simba Hybrid® Mattress

When Simba got in touch to ask if I’d like to try one of their Simba mattresses, I didn’t hesitate. It was an easy yes. My spare bedroom has a king-size bed (yes, I know, very generous of me) and although I like to think of myself as an excellent host, the mattress on that bed? Well, let’s say it hasn’t been my proudest feature. It’s been called a bit soft and is the subject of the odd grumble. Replacing it had crossed my mind, but it was a low priority. That is, until Simba stepped in with their offer of a Simba Hybrid® Mattress, I suddenly found myself with the opportunity to upgrade.

My Honest Simba Hybrid® Mattress Review

Let’s start with the delivery. I received a time slot by email, followed by a text, and on the day itself, a phone call. I tracked the van on the day, and everything arrived on schedule. The delivery person helpfully brought the box inside. It is a large box, but still far easier to handle than a full-size, loose mattress.

My partner and I unpacked it together. We placed it on the bed before unwrapping it, and thanks to the vacuum packing, it was oddly satisfying to watch it expand and take shape. Like most new mattresses, it did have a bit of a smell at first, not unpleasant, just a typical “new” scent. Leaving it to air out for around six hours sorted that out.

Before I handed over the Simba Hybrid® to my future guests, I thought I’d better test it myself (with help from Petal Lucky Love, my cute little Jack Tzu dog). Now that I have, I’m unsure I want to give it up. Why? Because I fell asleep quickly. And for me, that’s nothing short of a miracle. I’m one of those people who feel exhausted at bedtime, but when the lights go out, I’m suddenly wide awake. Cue the nightly scroll through property websites, which keeps me up even longer.

So, what makes the Simba Hybrid® Mattress so good? For starters, it’s not just foam or springs; it’s a proper hybrid of the two, which is perfect for me. The tech side includes 1,900 Aerocoil® micro springs, which, though you won’t feel them directly, they work behind the scenes to contour to your body, support your spine, and reduce motion transfer. No jolts, no roll-together, no dog-on-the-bed drama (although my dog is small, she doesn’t make too much of a dent).

They also help with airflow, which is clever and appreciated, especially during those British summer nights. That’s good news because my partner overheats, and it’s a tad annoying! Then there’s the Simbatex® foam layer, which is infused with graphite and designed to be breathable and bouncy. You get that sink-in, cloud-like comfort without overheating, which is the perfect solution for my other half and me.

As I discovered, the base of the mattress features nine-zoned areas that offer firmer support where it’s needed (shoulders, hips) and a bit more give elsewhere. I woke up feeling fabulous, without moans, groans, or body aches.

There’s a removable top cover, too, which zips off easily for washing, so it’s practical, especially for households with pets, children, or guests fond of red wine (I can think of a few!). And it’s all made in the UK in specialist factories, which I like. Simba is also a B Corp, which means they’re genuinely trying to do the right thing for the planet and people. They get extra points for that.

My advice to couples who want a harmonious living arrangement is to get at least a king-size bed, a great mattress and a cleaner. This mattress gives you two steps to a happier cohabiting arrangement!

Helpful Information About Simba Hybrid® Mattresses

You can buy the Simba Hybrid® Mattress directly from the Simba website. Depending on your needs (and budget), several mattresses are in the range. The one I tested is their original Hybrid®, costing £899 for the king-size, which I thought was worth the money. Maybe you can put a price on a good night’s sleep (it’s £899). Still, they also offer upgraded versions like the Hybrid Pro and Luxe, which layer in extras like wool and additional springs for those who want a superior experience. I will consider one of those for my bedroom.

There’s also the option to recycle your old mattress through Simba, even if it’s not one of theirs, which I think is a brilliant move. And if you’re unsure, there’s a generous trial period of 200 nights and a 10-year guarantee, which gives you plenty of time to figure out if it’s the right fit.

My house guests are so lucky!
