Homeboy and I have popped in a few times and enjoyed the coffee and food. We usually stop off when we are on route to the bargain shops along the Old Kent Road. It’s by far the cutest coffee shop in the area so do visit if you are in the vicinity.

Crol and Co Coffee Food and Drink

The food is limited yet tasty and well done. Breakfast options include Porridge with Homemade Compote, Two Eggs on Sourdough and a Bacon Sandwich. The eggs are scrambled during the week and poached at the weekend. My favourite breakfast bite is the Pimped-Up Banana Bread, which is warm with espresso butter, a drizzle of honey and scattering of walnuts.

The Toasted Sourdough options are satisfying. Choose Smashed Avocado on its own or with Bacon or Eggs. The Goats Cheese Open Sandwich is yummy with Acacia Honey and Walnuts. Sautéed Mushrooms with Herbs and Toasted Sesame Seeds is another option.

Breakfast tea and herbal varieties are available. Soft drinks include Dalston Cola and Kombucha. Booze is also served along the lines of house white and red wine, a few cocktails and beers.

Café Interiors

The cafe is in a former betting shop which is essentially the front of a Victorian house ground floor. The owners were initially looking for storage for their antiques which was back in 2016. A neighbourhood cafe was much needed, so it became a place to drink coffee, meet and eat. The interiors are welcoming with original floorboards, antique furniture and décor. I love the colourful display of vintage tins hung on the wall. It’s a homely, snug and cosy place to sip a latte and have your lunch. On a sunny day, you can sit out front, and people watch.
