While strolling through Camden Passage in London N1, I stumbled upon a delightful hidden gem, Frequency Coffee. If you find yourself in Angel, Islington, stop by for some exceptional coffee, pastries and delicious sandwiches. It’s a fantastic spot for anyone seeking cafes near Upper Street or a cosy place for coffee in Camden Passage.
Frequency Coffee And Food
At their Camden Passage café, you can sample espresso-based drinks like latte, cortado, cappuccinos, flat white and iced variations. Given the warm weather, I opted for an iced coffee, which was refreshing and perfectly brewed and left me craving more. Espresso costs £3.20, Americano and filter are £3.50, and flat white, latte, and cappuccino are £3.80.
Frequency Coffee roasts and sells its own coffee beans, ensuring top-notch quality. You can purchase their Ethiopian, Rwanda or Ugandan roasted beans online or in-store.
In the morning, you can savour their pain au chocolat, plain croissant, or decadent muffin. During my visit, I indulged in an outstanding cinnamon swirl, which had a brioche-like quality and was generously sized, making it all the more enjoyable.
They also serve a variety of breakfast options, including avocado on toast and truffle mushrooms on toast (with an option to add a poached egg), which cost £7.80-9. For those seeking healthier choices, Greek yoghurt and Bircher oats are priced at £6.
Their sandwich menu is impressive for lunch, featuring options like Parma ham with goat cheese, salami with mild cheddar, pesto and mozzarella and hummus with falafel. They cost £7.20.
If you visit in the afternoon, treat yourself to one of their tasty cakes or cookies paired with a cup of tea.
