Victoria Park Market is a must for any food lovers living in London or visiting the capital. It’s a thriving Sunday food market with plenty of artisan cakes, cheese, bread, organic veg, fruit and more. Order delicious food from one of the many street food vans or stalls which you can eat in the park. If you’re looking for things to do in London on Sundays, street food markets or farmers’ markets, you’ll love the Victoria Park Market.
“This is the best food market I’ve been to in London. The food is top-notch in terms of quality and taste,” Homegirl London
Victoria Park Market Street Food
If you get to the market around lunchtime, I suggest you first head for the street food. Enter via Bonner Gate, and on your left is Pound Path. Have a walk past the stalls and food trucks to read the menus. Decide which one you’re going to try and join a queue.
Delicious meals are abundant, from curries to rice bowls, burgers, fries, Philly Cheesesteaks, wraps, mac ‘n cheese and everything else you possibly want to try. Cuisines include Japanese, Indian, Indonesian, Filipino, Thai, Malaysian, Afghan, Greek and American. When you’ve got your meal, you can sit on a bench or grass to eat your food.
My partner and I shared two hot dishes. One was a vegan chickpea, mushroom and spinach curry with rice from the Indonesian Coconut Curry stall.
The other was a paneer Kati roll. The Indian cheese, mixed peppers, coconut raita, tamarind sauce, pink pickled onions, fresh coriander, tomatoes, and lime in an egg-fried paratha was heaven.
Victoria Park Market Produce Stalls
If you enter via Bonner Gate or Gore Gate, straight in front are the produce stalls along a pedestrianised street called The Nightwalk.
Stalls sell artisan cheese, raw milk, locally baked bread, small-batch cakes, pastries and desserts.
We sampled a chocolate and pear tart and a creamy tiramisu; I’m still thinking about them now!
With many savoury pies, quiches and vegan ‘sausage rolls’, you can take home something tasty for your dinner.
You’ll also find seasonal fruit and veg, so there’s no need to go to the supermarket.
Other delights include olives, charcuterie, sustainable fish, kimchi, raw honey, kombucha, natural wines and craft beers.
