Four Hundred Rabbits Menu
Sourdough pizzas are the main attraction with some exciting flavours. We shared The Rhubarb with tomato, mozzarella, chipotle rolled goat’s cheese, piquillo pepper, rhubarb and fresh basil. I know a rhubarb pizza sounds strange, but it was delicious thanks to the rhubarb paste piped on top.
The other pizza we tried was the Clean Vegan. Toppings included tomato, courgette, piquillo peppers, toasted pine nuts and salsa verde. It tasted fresh and a tad grassy due to the courgette ribbons and slightly nutty because of the pine nuts. Overall, it was a great-tasting pizza. The Dirty Vegan alternative has tomato, vegan sausage, cheese, jalapeno, chilli, crispy shallots and sriracha.
Other pizzas include Margherita with a vegan version, The Red (lots of tomatoes), The Feta, The Beef, The Chorizo, The Beef and The Anchovy. Their 100% sourdough base is proofed for at least 72 hours to achieve a fluffy yet crispy base with a tangy taste. A gluten-free base is also available. Pizzas cost between £8.50 to £12 with an option of a half size if you don’t fancy a whole one.
The starters, snacks and sides include Roasted Padron Peppers, Sourdough Garlic Bread, House pickles, Nocellara Olives and Brindisa Smoked Olives. We added the Side Salad with mixed leaves, shaved courgettes, toasted seeds, lemon, honey and extra virgin olive oil, which was quite lovely.
You’ll notice the gelato counter as you enter the pizzeria, so you’ll want to save a little space for a couple of scoops. Flavours include Organic Milk, White Chocolate with Raspberry, Pineapple with Coconut and Lemon Curd. Dark Chocolate or Black Cheery Sorbet is also available. Other desserts are Spanish Almond Cake and Salted Caramel Brownie with a choice of gelato. Kids will enjoy a Juice Box while the adults can treat themselves to a glass of natural wine, beer or a cocktail or two!
