Gopal’s Corner Menu
We visited for a casual meal and started with the vegetarian dhal and roti canai. The roti was excellent: crispy and golden on the outside yet soft and layered on the inside, perfect for scooping up the well-spiced dhal. Other roti canai options include chicken, mutton, fish, spinach, and cheese, each served with curry.
The banana leaf meal featured a generous serving of fragrant rice and two vegetable sides, papadam, and chutneys. We tried the vegan special, which was fresh and well-balanced, while the other options included chicken, mutton, and fish kari.
We also had thosai, a South Indian-style crispy pancake served with chutneys and sambar. The Masala thosai, filled with spiced potatoes, offers a delightful balance of crispness and warmth.
The menu also includes noodle and rice dishes, such as mee goreng mamak, a stir-fried noodle dish with prawns and tofu; kari laksa, a coconut-based curry noodle soup; and nasi goreng, a flavourful fried rice dish.
Gopal’s Corner offers a variety of signature drinks, including Malaysian pulled tea or the tarik, which can be enjoyed hot or cold. Other drinks include jasmine tea, Teh O’ais Limau, a refreshing iced lime tea, and Milo, a chocolate malt beverage.
