My Odd Job List For The Handy Squad

Okay, I must admit that I’m a bit of an organiser, so of course, I had a list of the odd jobs I wanted to be completed. I used to work on the building site with my dad and brothers, so I have some knowledge of DIY. If you don’t know anything about DIY, plumbing or electrics, don’t worry because you get to speak to a real person. Just tell the Handy Squad team the work you need to do, and they will take care of the rest.

Meet Charlie From The Handy Squad

Charlie was sent to undertake my odd jobs. He has been with the Handy Squad for eight years, which was very handy! He was great, turned up on time, was friendly and easy to get on with. His work was first class, he explained options to me, we agreed on an approach, and he got on with it. I felt comfortable with Charlie being in my apartment. The first thing he asked for was a dustpan and brush, so he had a gold star within five minutes of turning up!

Charlie Assessing His First Job

My job list included hanging four roller blinds on enormous windows in my open-plan living and dining room. As I live in a warehouse apartment, the windows were not straight at all, but he did a brilliant job.

Onto the guest bedroom, where I had a few items to be addressed. I wanted a metal curtain rail hung in the spare room, which Charlie cut to size. A friend of mine, Celestino Garcia, had gifted me a beautiful illustration which I had framed and wanted to put up in the guest room. I also needed Charlie to secure two metal cloud-shaped shelves on either side of the bed. When he’d finished, I felt pleased with the end result, and the guest room was now complete.

The other odd jobs included fixing a coat rack to a wall in the hallway. I wanted to swap around a shelf in the bedroom with a woven wall hanging. Then, being cheeky, I also asked Charlie if he wouldn’t mind putting a few bulbs in the kitchen downlighters. He was happy to oblige. I must say that once you’ve had all these niggly little jobs professionally sorted, you will feel very content.

Why I like The Handy Squad

The Handy Squad is a family-owned business run by brothers Edward and Charlie Harris located in Fulham. They are firm believers that a company with strong ethics, competence and trust is the way forward. This is especially true in the building industry, which sometimes gains a bad reputation. Their solution is simple, offer a fair price for a professional job, and who can quibble with that? They have been trading since 2005 so are very experienced at what they do.

You’ll Easily Recognise The Handy Squad Van

All the handy people are vetted so you can feel safe when you let them into your home. The service is entirely personal; you can speak to someone in the office who will coordinate everything for you. This is a different approach from app-based handy companies, where talking to a person is often difficult. If, for any reason, you are not happy with the service, the issue will be resolved for you. The pricing is very transparent, and you know exactly what you are paying for right from the outset. As you can see, there are many reasons to hire this company.
