It’s Bagels on D’Arblay Street in London W1 brings the unmistakable taste of New York bagels to Soho. Founded by Noah Wunsch, a New Yorker craving the flavours of home, this bustling bagel bakery offers a simple yet satisfying menu for breakfast, lunch, or a quick snack. Wunsch’s journey began at 15 at Bagel Emporium in NYC, but it was during the pandemic that he perfected his classic New York-style bagels. After a successful pop-up at Caravan Coffee Roasters in 2022, he opened It’s Bagels in Primrose Hill in 2023 to long queues. Thankfully, there is now also It’s Bagels in Soho on the corner of D’Arblay Street and Berwick Street.
“For anyone craving an authentic New York-style bagel in London, this café is an absolute must-visit. It’s a place where quality speaks for itself, leaving you satisfied and eager to return,” Homegirl London.
It’s Bagel Menu
It’s Bagels brings a slice of New York to London with its perfectly chewy bagels, firm on the outside and soft on the inside. The menu offers a variety of classic bagels, including sesame, everything, garlic, poppy, pumpernickel and cinnamon raisin, along with a unique rainbow bagel available on weekends. Each bagel pairs well with a selection of schmears, ranging from classic plain to flavoured options like scallion, dill, sun-dried tomato and jalapeño. The lox schmear adds a rich, savoury depth for those seeking indulgence, while a vegan option ensures something for everyone. On a recent visit, I opted for a simple yet satisfying plain bagel with cream cheese, which did taste like I was in New York.
Their sandwiches, which are essentially filled bagels, include smoked salmon and cream cheese, pastrami with mustard and avocado with tomato. Heartier options range from the classic The Works, a generous combination of lox, cream cheese, onion, capers, lemon and tomato. Breakfast bagels packed with bacon, egg, and cheese or sausage and egg are perfect for those on their way to work. If you’re after something lighter, try a fresh salad with tuna, egg and whitefish, available in tubs or served over a garden salad. Smoked fish lovers can choose from lox or whitefish, which are sold by weight.
Beyond bagels, the café offers a small but tempting selection of pastries, including almond croissants, pains au chocolat and cinnamon buns. The drinks menu is thoughtfully curated, featuring coffees and fresh juices.
