I was contacted by Karma Cans to sample their office lunch delivery service. Being fond of food prepared by other people, I was very interested. They usually deliver in central London before 1 pm, but as I live in Finsbury Park, they made an exception. This is super healthy and very tasty food which you can enjoy at work. Get your colleagues together and make it a fun thing rather than slouching over your keyboard alone! If you’re looking for food deliveries in London, then you must try Karma Cans. You can thank me later!

Karma Cans Idea
The Karma Cans venture was set up by Eccie and Gini Newton, sisters who turned their hobby into a business. Eccie loves food and worked as a chef at Petersham Nurseries and kitchens in the South of France. It was while working in Mumbai that Eccie was introduced to the Tiffin Tin concept. Wives and mothers made food for their husbands and sons and had it delivered to their offices so they could eat something delicious at work. This is where the idea and the name started as a little seed which grew. Eccie looks after the food side while Gini handles the marketing.
Gini and Eccie
In London, many of us are tied to our office desks and are often too busy to venture out for lunch. When we do, we’ll likely grab the nearest carb-laden offering just because it’s handy. It’s a lovely idea to have healthy and freshly prepared food delivered to your office.
Community Platter
If you can get a group of colleagues to order their lunch, then you can stop for a break at the same time and catch up on the gossip. Now, wouldn’t that be nice? They make platters specially designed for community lunches which are very popular with co-sharing offices.
Karma Cans Menu
The menu changes weekly with four imaginative options. To give you an idea, this week the meat/poultry dish was Autumn stone fruit and burnt miso chicken on a bed of smoked freekeh, radicchio and chicory wedges with parsley and sprout flower salad. A previous dish featured white cut chicken with chilli oil and peanuts on a bed of cucumber salad and brown rice with coriander and spring onion.
Meat Option
The fish option was banana leaf salmon with ginger soba noodle salad, squash kale and sesame. Homeboy tried this and said it was fresh and was exceptionally tasty. He loved it and started dreaming about daily deliveries. Previous fish dishes included the date and sumac roasted salmon with crispy brown rice salad, Medjool dates, coconut and charred spring onions, sumac and lemon dressing plus charred courgette.
Fish Option
The vegetarian option was roasted cauliflower and potato curry. This is accompanied with fresh grated turmeric, ginger and curry leaves plus turmeric lentils and rice, fresh coriander chutney, chilli jam and yoghurt. Wow, that sounded amazing, and it tasted just fabulous. It was also very filling so it will certainly keep you going throughout your long day at the office. The spices were spot on, delivering a kick but without being too overpowering. You could tell the ingredients were top quality. On Fridays, they have a special option, this week it was crispy squash cubes in butter with sliced red cabbage, wild rice, black quinoa and pounded sesame and chilli oil dressing.
Vegetarian Option
The food is a high standard because they use quality produce which is locally sourced from sustainable suppliers. There’s no tuna or red meat on the menu. Your meal will taste fresh because it’s all made on-site that morning or the night before and most of it is made from scratch by them. They do all the hard work for you when it comes to presenting a balanced meal. It will be a protein with plenty of veggies, healthy oils and fats along with grains. There is also an option to add dessert and a drink. You can treat yourself to a cookie, an Ugly Grapefruit and Pineapple Sparkling Water or a Sandows Cold Brew Coffee.
Order Karma Cans Food Delivery
At present, they deliver in central London (please include Finsbury Park soon!). The menus are shown for the week, which is the same each day except for Friday when you get the special. If you order before 11 am you can get a delivery that day. Just visit the Karma Cans Website, and it’s effortless. The food is cycled to your office by 1 pm when you can take a well-earned rest and tuck in. It arrives either in a re-usable Tiffin Tin with metal cutlery (no plastic as bad for the environment). Or it will be in an eco-friendly disposable container. A box is priced at £8 whether it’s fish, meat or veggie. They can also cater for your meetings so forget about those stale sandwiches and treat your guests to food with flavour. If only they served this food on flights, then I’d be thrilled. Enjoy!
