London is obsessed with Oreo Cookie desserts, whether that’s creamy Oreo cheesecakes, cute cupcakes, rich chocolate brownies, spectacular ice cream sundaes or incredibly thick ice cream milkshakes. I’ve enjoyed these delicious chocolate cookies in various eating establishments throughout the capital. Oreo Cookies are famous in America, and it seems us Brits can’t get enough of them either. The combination of that sweet white vanilla filling enclosed in a chocolate biscuit sandwich is a real winner. If you have a sweet tooth, then you might like to try some of the treats I’ve discovered. See my pictures of the fabulous Oreo Cookie desserts I’ve consumed over the last month. Sometimes I love my job!

London Oreo Cookie Desserts
Just before Christmas, I was at Byron, the hamburger speciality restaurant, with Homeboy, my brother and his wife. We had a filling meal, and no one could manage a dessert, except me! I ordered the Oreo cheesecake, which came with four spoons, so everyone helped themselves. Byron feature five desserts on their menu and a new addition was the excellent Oreo cheesecake. It has an Oreo Cookie base followed by a Vanilla filling with cookie bits and is then topped off with even more crumbled Oreos. If you order this cheesecake, make sure they only bring one spoon, so you don’t have to share yours!
Cheesecake at Byron £4.95
The other cheesecake I enjoyed was at a local eatery called The Parlour, which is situated on Stoke Newington Church Street at number 167. They often showcase their Oreo cheesecake in the window, which is very tempting as you walk by. Homeboy and I popped in the other day for a bite to eat and treated ourselves to their cheesecake. The cookies were in the base, sprinkled throughout the filling and finished off with one on top.

Further along on Stoke Newington Church Street at number 121 is Ooh Lou Lou Cakery. They produce a fantastic selection of cupcakes, and yes, they also have an Oreo cupcake. I bought one, for purely investigative reasons, of course, and enjoyed it with a mug of tea in the afternoon. That’s a bit of a fib because I couldn’t wait until the afternoon. I took a picture and ate it before lunchtime! The frosting on top was sprinkled with cookie crumbles with half of an Oreo popped on top. I found the other half inside the moist chocolate sponge.

At Girasole, a little Italian café situated on Seven Sisters Road, they serve Bee Me frozen yoghurt with the all-important Oreo bits for extra loveliness. It’s a sweet little treat to enjoy if you pop in for a coffee. It’s probably less fattening than having Oreos in ice cream so it could be a great alternative if you are mindful of calories.
Frozen Yogurt Dessert £3
Along Holloway Road, at number 221, is a charming café called Miki’s Paradise which is a milkshake and smoothie bar. Here you’ll find a wide selection of Oreo desserts and shakes. I’ll start with the Special Brownie Cup which featured Oreo chocolate brownie bits, chocolate sauce, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and sprinkles.
Ice Cream Brownie £4.20
Also available at Miki’s are homemade brownies which feature chocolate combined with the Oreo cookies.
Brownies £2.95
Miki’s also serves milkshakes which are desserts in themselves. You can try the Crazy Brownie which is chocolate Oreo brownie, peanut butter, salted caramel sauce, chocolate sauce, whipped cream, sprinkles and wafer roll on top. Another version is the Cookie Monster which also features Maryland cookies. We tried the Crazy Brownie which as just so good.
Milkshake £4.40
You can also grab yourself an Oreo milkshake at Byron’s which is just so fabulous that you’ll be thinking about it long after it’s been consumed! You can try this in various flavours; vanilla, strawberry or chocolate. Add malt or alcohol for an extra treat.
Milkshake £4.50

Ideas for Making Oreo Cookie Desserts at Home
If you want to have a go at making your desserts using Oreo Cookies, you’ll find plenty of ideas on the Oreo Website. From cupcakes to tortes, cakes, cream pies and milkshakes, there will be something to tempt you. If you have a favourite recipe for a cheesecake or chocolate brownie add a few Oreos next time. I love the idea of an Oreo base for a cheesecake instead of digestive biscuits. It’s also easy to make your ice cream sundaes, like the one I tried at Miki’s, or crumble some cookies and make an ice-cold milkshake. Give it a go next time you want a cookie fix.
