The new EL&N Deli and Bakery immediately stood out in Covent Garden Market because of its vibrant display of focaccia with fabulous toppings and heaps of indulgent cakes. Intrigued, I returned with my partner to explore their menu, and the experience exceeded my expectations. If you’re searching for the best bakeries in Covent Garden, somewhere for a quick lunch in London WC2 or Italian delis, you’ll be super happy with EL&N.
“Whether you’re in the mood for savoury focaccia, tempting cakes, or a speciality drink, EL&N Deli and Bakery is a must-visit in Covent Garden,” Homegirl London.
EL&N Deli and Bakery Covent Garden Lunch Menu
Focaccia takes centre stage at EL&N, with flavours celebrating fresh ingredients and bold combinations. I chose the Stracciatella Pistachio, a vegetarian option loaded with creamy stracciatella cheese, rocket, basil pesto, olives, sun-blushed tomatoes, pistachio and fresh basil. It was a delightful mix of creamy, nutty, and herby flavours.
Meanwhile, my partner went for the Gorgonzola, which features gorgonzola cheese, roasted red onions, olives, red peppers and parmesan. The rich tanginess of the cheese paired beautifully with the sweetness of the roasted vegetables. Other options include Margherita, Goats’ Cheese & Honey, Burrata & Basil and Provolone e Bresaola. Prices for focaccia range from £9.00-£10.50. While the focaccia stole the show, the pizzettes and folded pizzas are an alternative.
No visit to EL&N is complete without indulging in their cakes. We shared the decadent Bogtrotter’s Chocolate Cake, a chocolate lover’s dream, with a moist sponge and rich ganache. On my next visit, I’m eager to try the Pistachio and Rose Cake, a stunning creation with pistachio sponge, rose ganache and fresh raspberries. Cakes are priced from £8.00-£9.25.
EL&N also excels in drinks with their expertly brewed speciality coffees and creative beverages. Options like the Forest Green Iced Matcha and indulgent hot chocolates sounded tempting.
