We enjoyed a delightful lunch experience at Chestnut Bakery on Elizabeth Street in London SW1. This bakery is renowned for its exceptional Croissants, artisanal clay oven Flatbreads, and freshly baked Bread. It’s a top choice for those seeking the best places for lunch on Elizabeth Street, cosy bakeries in Belgravia, or charming cafes near Victoria Coach Station. You’ll appreciate the friendly service and fabulous food, whether stopping there for breakfast, lunch or an afternoon treat.
“A buzzy bakery for anyone with a penchant for artisanal Bread and delectable treats. You’ll be smitten by their Praline Doughnuts, Tiramisu Danishes, or tantalising Tahini Cookies,” Homegirl London.
Chestnut Bakery Menu
I highly recommend trying the freshly made Flatbreads from the clay oven for lunch; they’re all made to order. The Fig with Goat’s Cheese, Ricotta, and Hazelnuts was delightful. These Flatbreads are generously sized, so I suggest sharing one with your partner or a friend. It’s a tough decision with many tempting options, such as Burrata with Burnt Honey, Sesame and Fennel Seeds, the Black Kalamata Olive with Sundried Tomato, or the Egg on Mornay.
We also shared the Olive Hummus, presented on a board alongside a small salad and a round Ka’ak Bread. Again, this portion was substantial, especially after enjoying the Flatbread, but it was so delicious that we managed to finish it all. They also offer Roasted Red Pepper Hummus for those who prefer it.
Another lunch option includes their delectable Savoury Pastries. We tried the Za’atar and Gruyere Knot, featuring exceptionally flaky Pastry. The Aubergine Parmigiana Croissant, Mushroom and Truffle Danish, and Croq Monsieur are other options. Additionally, there are sandwiches to choose from, like Roasted Aubergine with Plant-Based Pesto, Melted Cheese, Bresola with Avocado, or Pastrami. Alternatively, you may prefer a Bagel with Halloumi, Pastrami, or Bresola with Avocado.
Now, let’s talk about the sweet treats; there’s quite a variety! You can indulge in Pain au Chocolate, a Sticky Cinnamon Bun, Chocolate Babka Bun, Twice-Baked Pecan and Caramel Pastries, Jam or Praline Doughnuts, Tiramisu Danish, Tahini Cookies and Pistachio and Raspberry Buns.
Before you depart, I recommend considering taking some bread home. You can choose from Sourdough Loaves like Charcoal and Kalamata Olive or explore Breads from around the World, including Moroccan Bread, Simit and White Baguette.
