They offer a delightful selection of fresh, daily prepared food sourced from high-quality, sustainable suppliers. With a great choice of vegetarian and vegan savouries and delicious cakes, it’s certainly worth popping in next time you’re in the area. Whether you’re searching for the best cafes near Victoria, St. James’ Park, or Westminster stations, Iris and June is a fantastic choice for lunch.
“You’ll love lunch at this busy independent café with excellent Ozone coffee, fabulous frittatas and filo pies, healthy salads, and stand-out sandwiches,” Homegirl London.
Iris And June Lunch Menu
Their lunch menu features an ever-changing array of dishes made with the freshest ingredients. During my visit, I tucked into a delectable courgette, cavolo nero and cheese frittata, which cost £6.50 (£11 with a side salad). Alternatively, you can choose from frittata options like aubergine and red pepper frittata, or filo pies filled with free-range English ham, baby spinach and cheddar or butternut squash, courgette and cheddar.
To accompany your meal, consider adding one of their tempting salads. Expect something tasty like sumac roasted romanesco, cauliflower, broccoli with kale, bulgur wheat, golden raisins and tahini dressing. Or broccoli with spinach, rocket, red onion, cranberries, seeds and mustard dressing. Side salads cost £4.40, small plates are £7, and large plates are £9.
If sandwiches are more your style, Iris and June offer choices like free-range roast chicken with parsley cream cheese, broccoli pesto and artichokes. Vegan offerings may be roast aubergine with marinated tempeh, chilli jam, avocado and rocket. I tried the vegetarian Monterey cheddar with rocket, pickled red cabbage and a delightful homemade plum and apple chutney. These stand-out sandwiches are priced between £8.50 and £9.50. You can also enjoy filled croissants with Gruyère cheese and ham or cheese with tomato for £4.75-£5.00.
After your nutritious lunch, indulge in their sweet treats, including vegan Snickers bars, lemon pistachio slices, and chocolate and caramel slices. Alternatively check out the cookies and cakes like lemon polenta or buttermilk banana bread, which you can have toasted with butter.
Iris and June source coffee beans from Ozone Coffee Roasters in Shoreditch, one of my favourites. They also offer a wide selection of Good & Proper Teas, from traditional builders to oolongs, white teas, and spiced chai.
