Morty and Bob’s, Kings Cross, London N1C, is an all-day dining spot and bar in Coal Drops Yard. I tried their lunch menu with classics like Grilled Cheese, Steak sandwich, Cheeseburger and Chicken Schnitzel. It’s a delightful fusion of American diner dishes and brunch favourites like the ever-popular Avocado on Toast. Whether hunting for a laid-back lunch in Kings Cross, buzzy brunch places in N1C or somewhere for dinner with drinks in Coal Drops Yard, Morty and Bob’s is a welcoming place.
“For comfort food with a hug, head to Morty and Bob’s for their legendary Grilled Cheese, juicy HG Walter Bavette Steak Sandwich or elevated Cheeseburger with Fries,” Homegirl London.
Morty And Bob’s Lunch Menu
Morty And Bob’s brunch come lunch offering beckons diners with the promise of cosy comfort food. A must-try is their Grilled Cheese Sandwich, oozing with cheese and customisable with Mixed Onions, Truffle-infused Mushrooms, or the spicy Nduja. My personal choice of Cheese with Mixed Onions delivered a satisfying experience. The allure of their crispy Fries is hard to resist, and yes, I gave in! For an elevated treat, their Parmesan Truffle Fries are a must.
Meat eaters will enjoy the Aged HG Walter Bavette Steak Sandwich in a soft Focaccia Bun. Meanwhile, Morty’s Cheeseburger in a fluffy Brioche Bun complemented by Emmental Cheese might tempt you. For an alternative, the Chicken Schnitzel, paired with Grilled Broccoli, Fried Egg, Capers and Herb Butter, sounds excellent.
For brunch enthusiasts, the menu offers Avocado on Toast, enhanced with Crispy Kale, Toasted Seeds, Radish and a zest of Lime on a Sourdough base. The Braised Butter Beans adorned with Roast Fennel and Green Harrisa on Sourdough are equally tempting. If you’re feeling super hungry, Bob’s Brunch is the answer, loaded with Eggs, Toast, Bacon, Potato Hash, Sausage, House Beans and Avocado. A vegetarian version is also available.
Health-conscious diners are in for a treat with the Grain Bowl, a harmonious blend of Greens, Avocado, Almonds and a touch of Chilli Oil, crowned by a Poached Egg. Or you may prefer the Caesar Salad featuring Sourdough Croutons, Kale, Romaine, Parmesan and a classic Caesar Dressing. Meanwhile, if you aren’t feeling virtuous, you can enjoy the Fries like I did!
