We discovered Trinco at Oru, a health-oriented workspace, during a recent trip to East Dulwich. Trinco is the in-house café offering Sri Lankan curries, toasties, sandwiches and salads during the day. In the evenings, they serve a modern interpretation of Tamil Sri-Lankan cuisine on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 6 pm. It’s a vibrant place where adults of all ages, kids and dogs gather. It’s also an excellent spot for solo diners, with notably friendly staff. If you’re looking for healthy places to eat on Lordship Lane, the best lunch in East Dulwich or Sri Lankan food in London SE22, you’ll love Trinco at Oru.
“Oru connects the local community through co-working, wellbeing, events, and wholesome food, making Trinco a welcoming place to eat and socialise.”
Trinco Lunch Menu At Oru East Dulwich
We shared the comforting Sri Lankan lentil dhal, served with garlic yoghurt, coconut sambal, roasted tomatoes, pickled red chilli and coriander roti. The dish was flavourful and perfect in consistency. Other hot and homely options include the paratha wrap filled with fried egg, halloumi, chilli chutney or masala beans on sourdough topped with a fried egg and a coriander chilli chutney. These dishes are priced at £10-11.
We also shared a sandwich. Though the roasted oyster miso on focaccia was sold out, the kimchi with cheddar toastie was so good I’d order it again. Sandwiches range from £5-8.25, with options like avocado or halloumi on toast also available.
To balance the toastie, we ordered a quinoa and melon salad, which I plan to replicate at home. The summer salad with nectarine also sounded terrific. These are available in three sizes, costing £3-8.
We were too full for dessert but plan to return for the cakes. They offer banana bread, apricot and rosemary cake, lemon and blueberry loaf, tahini and dark chocolate cookies, and more.
Drinks include homemade lemonade, mango lassi, lychee iced tea, beer, wine, and cocktails. They also serve coffee from Assembly and Square Mile Roasters.
