I had a delicious lunch at My Neighbours The Dumplings while exploring Victoria Park Village, Hackney, London E9. I took my partner with me; he thought it was the best Dim Sum in London. Wow, this is a super cute place, and the dumplings are divine. You must visit My Neighbours The Dumplings if you’re searching for dumpling restaurants in Hackney, places to eat lunch near Victoria Park or the best Dim Sum in London.

My Neighbours The Dumplings Menu
Once seated, you’ll receive a little paper menu to tick off what you want. We selected mainly vegetarian dishes to share, and everything was excellent. That’s because all the dishes are made in-house using the best ingredients. The meat is free-range from Taste Tradition farms in Yorkshire, and the fish is sustainably sourced. You can tell that each little dumpling parcel has been wrapped with care, and the choice of fillings is deliberated upon to deliver the best possible taste.
From the Dumplings section, we chose the Veggie Dumplings steamed in a dim sum style. You get four pieces of perfectly formed dumplings. The other option is Pork with Prawn or just Prawn.
We both loved the Potato and Truffle Su Gok. It’s a crispy glutinous rice dumpling, and you get two pieces. I’d never had these before and would order again.
The Courgette and Wood Ear Mushroom Crispy Fried Pot Stickers are delicious. You get four pieces for sharing, although I ate more! Lamb and Coriander Pot Stickers are also available for meat-eaters.
My partner treated himself to the Crispy Prawn Won Tons. These look spectacular in the little pot smothered with sweet chilli sauce. The prawns are from Ecuador via the Chan Brothers, specialists in Dim Sum quality prawns.
We selected the Tender Stem Broccoli from the Hot Plates section. Thanks to the black garlic, pickled walnut, chilli glaze and fried shallot crumb, it was so good. The other hot options are Ma Po Tofu with Shitake Mushrooms, Pan-Fried Chicken Thigh, Crispy Pork Belly, Steamed Stonebass, and Jasmine Rice. Smacked Cucumber Salad and Marinated Silken Tofu are the cold alternatives. My partner is allergic to cucumber, and I’m not too fond of tofu, so needless to say that we didn’t opt for any of those.
Flip over the food menu to see the drinks. You can order Lagers, Organic Wines, Sake from small family-run breweries in Japan, Cocktails with Asian flavours, Chinese Teas from China and Taiwan, or Soft Drinks to accompany your meal. We both had a Jasmine Tea; on reflection, we could have shared one pot between us.
Dumplings cost £6-6.80, Cold Plates £6-6.80, Hot Plates are £7.20-12.50, and the Rice is £2.50. I thought the prices were reasonable for the exceptionally high standard of food.
