Meet the Oliver Hayden Owners
Bernice and her husband Gavin (Mr and Mrs Say) own the company. It’s a division of labour, with Bernice looking after everything from PR to customer service while Gavin is responsible for the flooring side and commercial sales. They met fourteen years ago through a mutual friend and now have two sons – Oliver and Hayden hence the business name.

Bernice’s background was in fashion wholesale, where she dealt with buying offices ranging from big names like Harrods, Marks and Spencer through to smaller independents. Bernice also had the experience of promoting and marketing smaller fashion labels, which has helped her know how to publicise her business. Gavin has always worked in flooring and has his own company. In the last 25 years, he has installed flooring for Blue Chip companies and various Architects. On the website, you’ll notice that they sell a selection of Karndean wood and stone flooring from the Art Select collection. This is something they are looking to expand very soon.

Bernice tells me why they started the business, “we launched the website as we both have a passion for interiors. With Gavin’s knowledge and my background, it seemed the perfect combination to share our passion for diverse furniture. Working as a husband and wife team is also important as family values are a high priority. The notion of a physical store sounds lovely, but unfortunately, we are yet to find the right property. We feel the high street is changing, but at the moment, we’re enjoying the challenges E-Commerce brings. We’re hoping that it will become a fully-fledged family business in the future with the boys joining us, although Oliver is twelve while Hayden is eight right now!”
