We had a memorable plant-based lunch at Mallow, Borough Market, London SE1. It’s been on our list for a while, and after discovering they were dog friendly, we booked a table for two and our puppy. If you’re looking for the best vegan restaurants in London, a plant-based menu in SE1 or Borough Market restaurants, you should check it out.

Mallow Plant-Based Lunch Menu
We selected the Blue Corn Tostado from the Small Plates. A topping of Tamarind Laam, Pasilla Mole and Escabeche Fennel was a creative take on traditional Tostado fillings.
The Butternut Dahi Puri was a big hit. We couldn’t get enough of the Black Fig Chutney and Thyme Cardamom Yoghurt filling squeezed inside the mini shells. Other Small Plates are Porcini Chestnut Croquettes with Truffle Aioli and Vinaigrette Leeks. The Bitter Leaves with Red Wine Pear, Blue Cheese Mousse and Hazelnuts is a refreshing Salad option.
On to the Big Plates. The stand-out dish for us was the Market Thali which we shared. It was a wonderful assortment of delectable Kiri Hodi, Tamarind Laam, Gujarati Dahl, Hair Mirch Cauliflower, Pineapple Archar, Flat Bread and Coconut Cashew Basmati. Other Big Plates include Truffle Chick’n Burger, Levant Cannellini Burger, Sweet Potato, Roast Pepper Laksa, and more.
I highly recommend you don’t over-order so you can try one of the heavenly desserts. We couldn’t get enough of the Bitter Chocolate Cake with Espresso Meringue and Anglaise, which was superb. To be honest, they all sounded scrumptious. I must return for the Crème Brûlée with Liquorice Cherries and Bourbon Snap. Mind you, the Ginger Sticky Toffee with Apple Compote and Cinder Toffee Ice Cream also appeals.
