I stumbled upon the captivating Wolfox at Savoy Court, London WC2, while out and about for a walk. It’s an everyday grand cafe and restaurant offering a worldly homage to culinary delights from Japan to Thailand and neighbouring Mediterranean coasts. Their menu reimagines your favourite brunch dishes alongside some tantalising signature dishes. Whether you seek a café along the Strand, a brunch spot near Charing Cross Station, or a dining experience at the Savoy, Wolfox awaits.
“As a delightful café adorned with art deco windows and simple yet sophisticated interiors, Wolfox offers a thoughtful brunch menu, perfect for enjoying alone or with your favourite person,” Homegirl London.
Wolfox Savoy Grand Cafe Brunch Menu
Wolfox is ideal for a leisurely daily brunch from 8 am until 1 pm. Choose one of their indulgent egg dishes, such as the royale, served with poached eggs and dressed with a subtly flavoured yuzu hollandaise atop your choice of toasted muffin or sourdough bread. Add smoked salmon, miso butter pan-fried Asian mushrooms or miso chilli and honey-glazed bacon. I thoroughly enjoyed mine with grilled asparagus and a hint of pickled ginger; it looked fabulous, and the flavours elevated what is now a staple brunch dish.
Another option is to savour the avocado sourdough toast with an organic poached egg and customise it with Hunan tea-smoked salmon, miso and honey-glazed bacon, char sui pork, or vegan pork. Or the Bennett-style omelette seasoned with fish veloute, hollandaise sauce, natural smoked haddock and toasted parmesan cheese. Egg dishes cost £16-20.
Wolfox offers more savoury delights, from brunch bao buns filled with miso-buttered mushrooms, asparagus, pickled ginger, and yuzu to sweet and spicy hummus on toasted seeded sourdough with mango, avocado, and various toppings. These dishes are priced between £14 and £ 18.
Indulge your sweet tooth with fluffy or plant-based matcha pancakes with maple and honey glazed bacon, banana and Nutella, or berries with Manuka honey and crème fraiche. I tried the generous portion of Matcha Toast, featuring manuka honey, fresh berries, Japanese pear compote, and yuzu whipped cream, which was crunchy on the outside yet fluffy on the inside. These are all priced at £16. For a healthy alternative, enjoy one of the breakfast bowls with porridge and Japanese pear or organic acai with fresh fruit and granola for £9-12.
Savoury croissants are also available, featuring options like baked ham and cheese, tomato and cheese, or brie and cranberry. They are priced between £6 and £7. Or treat yourself to a pistachio or raspberry croissant, ranging from £3 to £5.50.
Pair your meal with an organic coffee, speciality hot drink, cold-pressed juice or smoothie.
