My ten things to do in Fitzrovia, London, highlight the best places to eat in Fitzrovia and exciting ways to while away your day. If you’re unfamiliar with Fitzrovia, it’s near the West End of London, north of Soho and between Bloomsbury and Marylebone, with postcodes including W1, WC1 and NW1. Oxford Street, Great Portland Street, Euston Road and Gower Street bound the area. I used to have a PR office on Great Titchfield Street, so it was an area of London where I spent a lot of time in. I always found Fitzrovia to have an air of sophistication and a bohemian vibe. Keep your eyes open for mews courtyards with pretty houses. It’s a heavenly haven and an escape from the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street. Join me as I list my ten favourite things to do in Fitzrovia.

My Favourite Ten Things To Do In Fitzrovia
1. Start the day with Coffee at The Attendant. You’ll love the quirky restored 1890 Victorian men’s loo, which still has the original Doulton & Co porcelain urinals. I kid you not! Today they serve Coffee, Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch. I popped in to spend a few pennies on coffee and a Cheese and Tomato Croissant, which was very coinvent (excuse the puns!). The address is 27a Foley Street, London W1W 6DY.
2. Tuck into a delicious Breakfast at Caravan. Everything is delectable, whether you want Cereal, Fruit, something tasty on Toast or one of the Plates brimming with Pancakes or Eggs. My favourites include Jalapeno Cornbread with Avocado, Curd Cheese and Fried Egg and the Veggie Fry Up. The restaurant is housed in a former BBC 1 Radio Headquarters at Yalding House, 152 Great Portland Street, London WIW 6AJ.
3. Enjoy a leisurely Lunch at the Riding House Café. A relaxed and casual hang out where you can savour Modern European and Asian-inspired Skewers, Fritters, and Curries. The address is 43-51 Great Titchfield Street, London W1W 7PQ.
4. Save your cash with Lunch at the Indian WMCA. The student hostel serves budget Indian cuisine from 12-3 pm weekdays, including Onion Bhaji, Dhal, Vegetable Curry, Fish Curry, Rice and Lassi. The address is 41 Fitzroy Square, London W1T 6AQ.
5. Treat yourself to Afternoon Tea with a twist at the Charlotte Street Hotel. You’ll appreciate the cute Sandwiches, adorable Cakes and Clotted Cream with your Scones. Afternoon Tea is served Wednesday and Thursday from 2.45 pm until 4.45 pm and Friday to Sunday from 12 pm until 4.45 pm. The address is 15-17 Charlotte Street, London W1T IRJ.
6. Feast on fabulous vegetarian dishes by Ottolenghi at Rovi. The focus is on fermentation and cooking over fire. Expect to have your taste buds treated to Celeriac Shawarma and the Jerusalem Mixed Grill. The address is 59 Wells Street, London W1A 3AE.
7. Relax at the grand Georgian Fitzroy Square. This elegant square has a patch of greenery in the middle with a sculpture by Naomi Blake. It is surrounded by imposing houses. As you walk around the perimeter, you’ll notice some Blue Plaques; one is for Virginia Woolf, 1882-1941, who lived there between 1907-1911. You get excellent views of the BT Tower from the square.
8. Instagram the iconic BT Tower. The Grade II Listed communications tower lies within Fitzrovia. It is 189 meters high, including the aerial rigging completed in 1964/5. It has been called different names and remains an impressive landmark.
9. Immerse yourself in British cartoons at the Cartoon Museum. Browse British editorial cartoons, caricatures and comic strips from the 18th Century to the present day. It’s a small museum but worth supporting to ensure they stay in business. The address is 63 Wells Street, London W1A 3AE.
10. Explore the interesting streets of Fitzrovia, where you’ll find shops and eateries. These include Charlotte Street (Charlotte Street Hotel, Fitzroy Tavern, ROKA, Gaucho, Goode Flowers). Charlotte Place (Lantana Café, Walk-In Back Rub). Tottenham Court Road (West Elm, Andrew Martin, Timothy Oulton). Store Street (Store Street Espresso, Café Deco, Treadwell’s Books). Foley Street (The Attendant Coffee, KIN Café/Vegan). Wells Street (ROVI, Cartoon Museum). Mortimer Street (Mortimore House/Kitchen/Club, Greyhouse Café). Great Titchfield Street (Riding House Café, Scandinavian Kitchen).
