My Favourite Ten Things To Do In Victoria Park Village Hackney
- First, you should explore the amazing Victoria Park. It boasts boating lakes, a Chinese Pagoda, gardens, sculptures, sports fields, playgrounds and two excellent cafes.
2. If you’re an interior design fan, you’ll appreciate haus®, where You will discover a carefully curated selection of contemporary furniture, lighting and homeward from European brands: Hay, Vitra, String, Knoll, Carl Hansen and Flos.
3. For beautiful jewellery, try Branch on the Park. They sell birthstone bracelets, necklaces, earrings and many other adorable pieces.
4. Seek out the perfect gift for your friend or loved one at Sublime. This lifestyle store stocks everything from fashion to greetings cards, home accessories, candles and more.
5. Treat the kids to a game or book at The Toybox. The shelves are full of colourful toy boxes and fun things.
6. Dine at My Neighbours The Dumplings, a super cute dumpling house serving steamed dim sum style dumplings, wontons, pot stickers and a selection of hot and cold plates. You can pick up a few groceries at the front of the restaurant. At the back, they have a retracting roof terrace.
7. Try fish and chips at the Fish House, which serves ethically sourced, contemporary seafood. Sweet pea mint and feta cheese fritters, battered tiger prawns, fried fish tacos, and fish finger sandwiches are just some of the tempting dishes on the menu.
8. For a romantic evening meal, it has to be Il Parco for an authentic Italian dinner. Or try one of the pubs (The Empress or Lauriston), which also serve good food.
9. During the day you can eat at one of the cute cafes. Pop into Pophams Bakery for coffee and artisanal pastries or croissants, Gail’s for a sandwich or Boulangerie Jade for afternoon cake and a cup of tea. If you’re feeling creative, you can get a snack while making a pot at Studio Ceramics.
10. There are plenty of independent specialist shops to buy your provisions. Shop at The Deli Downstairs for artisan cheese and deli delights. Next door, they have a delightful rustic shop selling soaps, household goods, dinnerware, flowers and more. It’s actually called Place Next Door!
