My partner and I decided on a weekday brunch on a whim, and Morena in Eccleston Yards was my immediate choice. We can catch the C10 bus right outside our apartment, which takes us straight to Victoria Coach Station, so it was very easy. Within half an hour, we were in the calm Eccleston Yards. If you’re in a savoury mood, you can choose from a breakfast burrito, chilaquiles rojos with tortilla chips, spicy chilli tomato sauce, avocado and feta, plus avocado toast, Morena royale eggs with smoked salmon, a birria sandwich or a chicken rice bowl.
My partner, who loves a breakfast burrito, surprised me by choosing the wild mushroom croque toastie. It was massive and super satisfying, thanks to chunky slices of brioche layered with mushrooms, béchamel, Gruyère and truffle mascarpone. Savoury mains cost between £15.50 and £19.50.
The sweet dishes feel indulgent and perfect for a slower brunch. There’s tiramisu French toast made with cornflake brioche, chocolate spread and coffee mascarpone. Because my partner was already having brioche, I opted for the apple pie pancakes with caramelised apple and vanilla cream. They arrived as a generous stack, fluffy and warm, and the cream made it extra special. Sweet treats cost between £16.50 and £18.
We added cassava fries on the side, which were crisp and golden with chipotle mayo. There are also a few other extras if you want to build your own feast, including halloumi, chorizo, smoked salmon, mashed avocado and hash browns. Sides cost between £4 and £8.50.
For drinks, you can keep it brunchy with Colombian coffee, iced lattes and chai, plus a few fresh juices and smoothies if you fancy something lighter. If you’re in the mood for a longer linger, there are also cocktails on the menu, including classics and a few house signatures.

It’s very close to Victoria Coach Station, yet the courtyard setting feels calm and tucked away from the traffic, with outdoor seating that is especially lovely on warmer days.
