Why Home Art Gallery Walls Are Trending

I’m happy that home art gallery walls are trending. The National Covid Lockdown means staying in, working from home and not getting our fix of culture from art galleries or museums. With the rise of affordable prints from online poster stores who sell gallery packages, it’s no wonder that home gallery walls are becoming popular. We have never stayed in so much before, and staring at blank walls can be uninspiring. Join me as I showcase picture gallery walls which you can purchase as packages.

If you want to purchase a ready-made gallery wall for your home office (or another room), I’d recommend Desenio; they are dedicated to bringing you Scandinavian style art to decorate bare walls. Check out their Gallery Walls section where you will find a cool collection of curated packages. The featured image shows the Peach Floral Gallery Wall, £255.55. Above is the Feeling Artsy collection, £173.55 with abstract images. You may also like the Stylish Art Gallery Wall, £207.35, which includes a wall calendar along with geometric and brushstroke art. The sets contain frames in the same colour but different sizes. All you have to do is enclose your family photographs or favourite prints and hang them up using the wall template.

If you are an avid art collector, you’ll probably want to create your own gallery wall. If you watched ‘Better Things’ the show starring Pamela Adlon, you probably fell in love with the staircase gallery wall in her TV home. I think gallery walls work best when they are freestyle as in you hang art you love which could be different framed prints interspersed with canvases. If this is what you will do, I’d recommend maintaining a standard size gap between the images to avoid it looking too messy. If you prefer a more orderly approach, try keeping the same colour frames or selecting artwork with a cohesive subject matter or colour theme. There is no right or wrong approach to gallery walls, as long as you love it, have fun! For gallery wall inspiration see my Art Collection Pinterest Board.
