School study furniture … To achieve the ultimate utilitarian educational look search for original pieces from the 1970s. I found a great 2 drawer Old School Desk, made from solid beech, a lovely Vintage School Dining Table with blue melamine top and some Old School Chairs from the Scaramanga Shop. These are all original pieces so come with carvings by students and authentic dents. Many original school chairs are child size but I found a great Jean Prouve Style Standard Chair from Cult Furniture. It’s functional and comes in 4 colours, red, green, black and white. If you prefer a darker wood colour, the Vintage School Desk by The Original Home Store has a selection of original pieces with waxed beech tops and painted legs in a choice of colours. For something more studious try the Orwell Writing Desk from Graham and Green. It has a 1940s design and is finished in varnished sheesham with darkened detailing on the legs and edges. For somewhere to sit and ponder, consider the Vintage Leather and Linen Armchair from Rose and Grey which is petit so won’t absorb too much space.
