It’s time for a spot of balcony beautification. Because of Covid, we have come to appreciate outside space, no matter how small it may be. I have a balcony in front of my apartment. It’s actually a walkway or gantry leading to my front door, but I like to call it a balcony! I have come to love this outside space because it’s a relaxing place to sit and get a breath of fresh air. If you have a small balcony or perhaps a compact patio, it’s time to make it beautiful. I’ll show you how I’ve styled my own balcony, and I’ve also selected a few balcony decorative accessories to give you a few ideas.
My Balcony Beautification Project
Unfortunately, my balcony doesn’t get any sunlight. I’ve tried growing flowers and bamboo but have been unsuccessful. This led me to purchase fake plants for my windowsill. As my balcony is covered, I bought indoor artificial plants and they have withstood a winter. I invested the money in two big artificial cacti for the wow factor, which I placed inside woven baskets. The smaller fake plants, including aloe vera and fern, were cheaper. Most fake plants are already placed inside ceramic pots so that you can display them straight away. I salvaged a wooden fruit crate from Maltby Street Market and placed a few plants inside along with a vase for additional interest. I was sent two lanterns with TruGlow candles from Lights4fun, so I have put those on the window sill. My black metal bench is perfect for two people to sit down and enjoy the view over the internal courtyard. When I’m sitting outside, I bring out a couple of cushions and throw them from my living room. I’m thinking about buying an outdoor rug to make it look extra gorgeous. I’m a fan of balcony beautification because it looks pretty when I approach my apartment, making me feel happy!
