While exploring the area, I had breakfast at Heath Street Bakehouse, Hampstead, London NW3. The food is simple yet delicious because everything is made on-site. If you’re looking for somewhere to eat on Heath Street, breakfast in Hampstead, cafes in NW3 or the best London bakeries, you’ll be impressed with Heath Street Bakehouse.
“Founded by a Baker and a Miller, this is a recipe for success, so expect the best Sourdough Bread, Pastries and Cakes you’ve ever tasted,” Homegirl London.
Heath Street Bakehouse Breakfast Menu
Start your day healthy with Porridge served with Natural Yoghurt, Pear with a sprinkle of Dukka. I sampled the Cinnamon and Nutmeg infused Butter Granola with Natural Yoghurt, Poached Rhubarb and Fresh Pear. It was by far the nicest Granola with Yoghurt I’ve ever tasted, and it looked so pretty.
Savoury breakfast options include various toppings on Sourdough, such as Seasonal Jam, Poached Eggs and Tuscan Style Beans. Or you can create your breakfast from a list of Sides, including Poached Eggs, Avocado, Feta, Beans, Streaky Bacon, Prosciutto and Focaccia. I tried Avocado with Smoked Chilli Flakes, which I loved. If you enjoyed the Bread, take home a freshly baked Loaf created using the best flour and traditional methods. Choose from Ancient Grains Sourdough, Scandinavian Tin Loaf, and Focaccia.
The Bacon Sandwich is quite posh with Pasture Reared Grass Fed Bacon, Oak Leaf Lettuce and Ketchup. For breakfast or lunch, you can also try the Toasties with comforting fillings like Just Cheese, a mixture of Cheeses (Dale End Cheddar, Summer Field Alpine and Mozzarella), the same but with Kimchi or Oyster Mushrooms with Goats Cheese.
Sweet treats include Croissant Loaf with Crème Fraiche, Poached Rhubarb and Toasted Walnuts. This is a bakery, so it would be rude not to try an Almond Croissant, Danish or Cinnamon Bun. I had the latter on my first visit, enticing me back for more. On a sunny day, you may be swayed by a scoop of Espresso and Vanilla Ice Cream or Pear and Rhubarb Sorbet.
To give you an idea of prices, Porridge and Granola are 8.50, Toppings on Toast £5.50-14 and Toasties £9.50-12. Coffee is by Adams and Russell, which was noticeably nice.
