I’ve popped into Goodcup, Nunhead, London SE15 a few times. It’s a cute neighbourhood café with a delicious brunch-style menu. From pesto eggs to huevos rancheros and popular dishes like avocado on toast, it’s a great place to escape working from home for half an hour. You’ll have a great time if you pop in for coffee, croissants, brunch dishes, or their famous Brick Lane-filled bagels. If you’re looking for the best places for coffee in Nunhead, brunch in SE15 or somewhere to eat lunch near Nunhead Green, Goodcup is an excellent hang-out spot.
“Kick back and relax at Goodcup, where you can get a good cup of Allpress coffee and brunch or filled bagels to lift your spirits,” Homegirl London.

If you fancy egg dishes, you can try their pesto eggs, which I consumed on my last visit. You get two fried Cracklebean eggs, which I asked for mine to be well done. These are adorned with pesto, heritage tomatoes and garlic-steamed seasonal greens. For those seeking nostalgia, the dippy eggs with soldiers are a must or stick with plain eggs on toast.
My partner opted for the huevos rancheros, which looked super cute. It consists of two fried eggs on warm tortillas alongside smashed black beans, a tangy tomato and onion salsa, crumbled feta, jalapeños, and a hint of chilli sauce. Egg dishes cost £5.50-9.
If eggs aren’t your preference, the avocado on toast will entice you. It features smashed avocado on toasted South London sourdough, accompanied by chilled garlic, roasted heritage tomatoes, shichimi, pine nuts and pea shoots. I recall enjoying this dish immensely on a prior occasion, and they’ve now enhanced it by adding tomatoes, which cost £7.50. The Welsh rarebit sounds comforting. It’s served atop South London sourdough and features grilled Guinness, mature cheddar sauce, fresh chives, Lea & Perrins sauce and a pickle for £7.50.
The menu offers an array of choices for those craving a Brick Lane bagel with its perfect shiny crust and tender inside. The hearty hot pastrami Ruben boasts hot pastrami, sauerkraut, sliced dill pickles, Emmental cheese, French mustard, and homemade Russian dressing. Alternatively, there’s the PLT with prosciutto, lettuce and tomato or the smoked salmon with dill cream cheese.
Vegetarian and vegan options include mozzarella with pesto, tomatoes, and rocket, which I can vouch for. You could also try the hummus with roasted pepper, cream cheese with gherkin, or a plain toasted bagel with or without butter. Bagels cost £3-8.
You’ll enjoy the aroma of coffee as soon as you step through the door. They serve Allpress Espresso Coffee and Good and Proper Teas.
