Cleaning Your House For The New Buyers

Cleaning your house for the new buyers is a common courtesy. It’s time-consuming, so you can either hire a professional company or do it yourself. This article focuses on the latter. If you expect your new property to be spotless, then cleaning your home for the new buyers is recommended.

Cleaning Your House For the New Buyers Is A Nice Gesture

Giving your house a good clean before you hand over the keys is a thoughtful gesture. You can walk away from the property feeling like you’ve done the right thing. If the property you’re selling is a wreck and needs a total renovation, then perhaps a quick tidy-up is all that’s required. If you’re selling a house or flat in relatively good condition, you should clean it thoroughly. I left my flat spotless when I sold it. I wondered if the apartment I was moving into would be cleaned, so I asked the estate agent to find out for me. I was pleased to discover that the cleaning lady would give it the once over before the keys were handed over.

Schedule Cleaning Your House For the New Buyers

If you’ve decided to do the right thing, read on. Rather than leave all the cleaning to the last minute, you can tackle some of the more challenging jobs in advance. For instance, cleaning the windows (if you’re feeling extra generous), scrubbing grime from the bathroom tiles, wiping discoloured walls where the pictures are hung. These tasks may be considered above the call of duty, so you’ll have to make a judgment call. As you empty out cupboards to pack, wipe them inside and out, close the door, and you can tick that off your list!

A couple of days before moving, give the fridge, hob and oven a good clean. If you’re extra nice, you can wipe the dishwasher and washing machine inside and outside. It’s much easier cleaning the house when the removal company has loaded all the boxes. Keep a kit of cleaning products to hand along with the vacuum cleaner and mop. Get those rubber gloves on and clean the kitchen surfaces and bathroom (bath, shower, basin, toilet). Vacuum the floors and mop hard floors in the bathroom and kitchen.

Cleaning Your House For the New Buyers Finishing Touches

Leaving your house clean and fresh is the right thing to do. A welcome package is a thoughtful touch if you want to do something beyond that; you can leave a few essentials like tea, coffee, milk and sugar. Splash out on a bottle of champagne if you’re classy! Leave a welcome to your new home card or a friendly note. Flowers or a plant are a lovely gesture. These items aren’t expensive but make all the difference to your buyer. Pat yourself on the back. You are a lovely person!
