Homegirl London’s Five Fab Finds: Colourful Cushions. At the Top Drawer Exhibition Spring / Summer 2017, I was pleased to see a selection of crazy colourful cushions. These amazing abstract designs in vibrant and vivid shades certainly perked me up. I’ve picked out five of my favourites to share with you.
Five Colourful Cushions
Alexa Simone: This Digital Design Lecturer and Central St Martins graduate makes statement stylish cushions for cool interiors. Her cushions are created by digitally manipulating photographs she has taken and then mark-making. The result is abstract designs in vivid colours which adorn velvet fabric. A contrasting charcoal linen look fabric is juxtaposed on the reverse to complete the look. If you’ve got a velvet crush, add a couple of these contemporary grunge cushions to your urban pad.

Susi Bellamy: Susi describes her cushions as ‘Art for The Sofa’ which features her own original art. Her paintings are transposed onto luxury textiles like velvet to create premium cushions. Her designs are inspired by the fabulous city of Florence and traditional techniques of gilding and marbling. Susi is committed to colour and as such uses a rich palette brimming with golds, reds, purples and greens. Cheer up your sofa with a sumptuous cushion from her new collection.

Evelle Home: New at the show was Evelle Home showcasing vibrant prints on fabrics, cushions and lampshades. The digitally printed cushions on linen or velvet featured an abstract design called Coral Dissect. The colour palette combines blue, pink, red, coral and specks of lime green to create a bold yet feminine feel. Set against a white background, the symmetrical print is defined. Inspired by nature and travels, this brand is all about exciting customers through adventurous prints.

Bluebellgray: This brand is known for their painterly abstract prints. The Stronoway cushion features deep blue hues to echo the moody coastal landscapes of the Scottish Highlands. Printed onto luxury velvet, this piece can add interest to your sofa. This is a limited-edition cushion so buy it now if you love it! Otherwise, you’ll find plenty more designs and colours to fall in love with!
P Westwell: Artist and designer, Poppy Westwell has just launched her first collection of cushions. Her flora focus prints are influenced from her time spent exploring Malaysia as a child. The Palm cushions bring a tropical touch into your home in a range of vibrant colours from purples to blues, pinks and greens. Printed onto tactile velvet, these cushions are luxuriously soft.
