Homegirl London finds designer furniture by Abigail Ahern which is now available at sofa.com. The two have teamed up to bring you a classic style sofa, armchair and two footstools. The four piece seating selection is super sleek and full of retro style with a choice of over a hundred house fabrics. This is Abigail’s first furniture collaboration, she tells me – “The collection is quite decadent and sophisticated. There’s a retro inspired velvet sofa, a club style swivel armchair and two fabulous footstool x-benches. I really wanted the pieces to be gorgeous, luxuriously and supremely comfortable.” Let’s take a look at this stunning selection of designer furniture.

The sofa is simply called the Abigail Sofa. It looks beautiful in the Hudson Roosevelt Velvet shown in this picture. Abigail comments – “This shape is sleek and retro with indulgent velvet upholstery, plump square cushions and deep tufting. I wanted it to be a forever piece which buyers will love and cherish. It’s the perfect place to sip a martini, kick back to watch a film or just hang out with the family. My dogs were all over it the second it arrived at my home!” The frame is nice and neat and it sits elegantly upon tapered legs which are available in beechwood with an oak varnish finish, dark mahogany or French white. The measurements are 86cm high, 194cm wide and 89cm in depth – £1240 starting price.

The Stanley Armchair is curvaceous and classy. This picture shows the chair in Baltic Roosevelt Velvet. Abigail tells me – “This swivel armchair is probably my favourite piece in the whole collection. It’s full of character and was inspired by gentlemen’s clubs and the intriguing glamour of an upstate New York mansion. The shape adds immediate flair to any space and it would be just at home in a grand library as it would in a modern home. I’m obsessed with the round shape because it envelopes you as you sink into it to cocoon you from the outside world.” The measurements are 63cm high, 83cm wide and 85cm in depth – £580 starting price.

There are two footstools called Celeste and Maud. Abigail comments – “These ‘x-benches’ are really big in the States and I’ve never understood why we don’t see more of them in the UK. They’re really versatile – perfect for the living room for additional seating or end tables and make a glamorous addition at the foot of a bed.” The Celeste is a square shape and is shown here in Prussian Blue Velvet. The measurements are 48cm high, 40cm wide and 40cm in depth – £225 starting price.

This sumptuous seating collection is very much in Abigail’s style which she describes as – “Eclectic, glam, moody, laid-back and a little tongue in cheek!” Having spent time in America, this has influenced her designs, she explains – “I drew upon the feel of Downtown Manhattan when creating this range. There’s an effortlessly cool vibe that’s so synonymous with New York City that I love.”
