This week I hung out at Elephant Stores in Elephant and Castle. It was another grey January day in London, and I wanted to get out of my apartment for some content inspiration. After a brisk walk, I ended up at the laid-back Elephant Stores, which houses Little Louie Cafe and Cocktail Bar, Solo Crafts, Vintage Furniture and Fix Your Cycle. If you’re looking for coffee shops in Elephant and Castle, places to work with your laptop in Elephant Park or gift shops in SE17, you’ll love hanging out at the Elephant Stores.
What You’ll Find At The Elephant Stores
Little Louie Cafe and Cocktail Bar by Louie Louie: Little Louie is a cute café by day and a cosy wine and cocktail bar by night. It’s an offshoot of Louie Louie on Walworth Road. While hanging out at Little Louie, I started with a latte. You can add a Plain Croissant, Almond Croissant, Pain au Chocolate or slice of cake. For lunch, I treated myself to a satisfying Sourdough Sandwich of Roast Beetroot, Caramelised Onion, Whipped Herby Feta and Rocket. From 5 pm, you can share a couple of small plates while sipping your vino or cocktail glass.
Vintage Furniture and Objects by Vintage Matters: Most of the furniture in the cafe is for sale thanks to Vintage Matters, a Camberwell shop. Look around, and you’ll see vintage tables, desks, chairs, bar stools, coffee tables, benches, mirrors, wooden rulers, industrial lights, metal lamps, illuminated letters and more. It provides an eclectic mix of seating options for cafe guests who can perch at the cafe counter on a stool, join a sharing table or sit at a solo desk. You’ll enjoy catching up on personal or work emails while listening to the music in the cafe.
Solo Crafts Operated by South London Craft Fair: Make time to browse the gorgeous gifts, beauty products, jewellery, home accessories and greeting cards created by local independent designer-makers.
Bicycle Fixing by Fix Your Cycle: With Elephant and Castle being a cycle-friendly area, finding a bicycle-fixing place here makes sense. They also repair electric bikes.
