Restaurant Review: Malibu Kitchen The Ned. It was Homeboy’s birthday, so I booked Malibu Kitchen The Ned for a healthy breakfast. If you’re looking for the best places for breakfast near Bank Station, breakfast places in the City of London or healthy food in EC2, visit this restaurant.

Malibu Kitchen The Ned Breakfast Menu

The menu at Malibu Kitchen features healthy, Californian style food. If you want eggs, you can try the Egg White Omelette with basil, chives and tarragon. Or perhaps you might prefer the Open-Faced Omelette with spinach, kale, prosciutto and comté cheese. Avocado Royale comes with smoked salmon, sesame and a helping of spicy kimchi hollandaise. We tried the Quesadilla with creamy scrambled egg, Portobello, spring onion and pico de gallo, which was very good and beautifully presented.

Quesadilla

We also shared the Avocado Toast with tomato, chilli and watercress, which was super fresh and fabulous. You can add an egg if you want to this dish. The Grain Bowl sounded tempting with sprouts, kale, seeds, avocado and egg. If you’re going to keep things simple, ask for eggs in a style you like. Add sides to create your breakfast – mushrooms, spinach, hash browns, bacon, sausages, salmon or avocado.

Avocado Toast

Grains, berries and sweeter options included Bircher Muesli plus goji, passion fruit, coconut yoghurt and a scattering of toasted almonds. Or you can try Coconut Yoghurt with seasonal compote, honeycomb and pistachio. The heavenly Acacia Bowl with granola, berries, banana and bee pollen would be an excellent way to start your day. We settled on the Turmeric Pancakes, which were delicious; I would highly recommend those. With coconut, banana, macadamia and almond butter, it was a real treat. Dishes cost £8-13.

Turmeric Pancakes

Drinks included teas and coffees with speciality lattes – matcha, golden turmeric and beetroot cacao. Juice combinations, shakes, smoothies, wellness shots and kombucha were also featured. These all sounded amazing, so worth exploring if you are virtuous!

If you are eating from the Brunch or All Day Menu, you can expect raw vegetables, salads, rice bowls, flatbreads, healthy dips, ceviche, poke, tacos, cheeseburgers and more.

Malibu Kitchen The Ned Interiors

Step inside the grand ground floor of The Ned, and you will be completely smitten. Ask a member of staff to point you in the right direction of this restaurant because there are others located on the ground floor, it’s a small space but cute. There is a blue-tiled bar one end and an open kitchen the other. In the middle, you have a few cosy booths with leather chesterfield style seating and a long table with stools. This restaurant situated close to large arched windows which make it feel brighter.

The nearest stations are Bank, Cannon Street and Monument. Current opening times listed are Monday to Friday breakfast from 7 am until 11 am, the all-day menu is from 11.30 am until 10.30 pm. Saturday breakfast is from 9 am until 11 am, brunch from 11 am until 4 pm and dinner from 5 pm until 9.30 pm. It is best to book a table as this is a popular place to eat, enjoy!
