I was exploring the area to update my articles about the best things to do in Kings Cross when I spotted Longboys. At that exact moment, I started feeling peckish, and the lure of Doughnuts beckoned me. After browsing the beautiful array of Doughnut fingers on display, I decided to sample the Tiramisu. Wow, it was so delicious with subtle notes of Coffee and encased in a light Brioche Doughnut that I think I made a wise choice.
After a few hours of work, well, if you can call browsing shops work, I returned to Longboys to take home Doughnuts in the name of research! I opted for a box of three Doughnuts, and my first choice was Lemon Meringue, one of my all-time favourite desserts. My second choice was the Triple Chocolate Brownie with its decadent cocoa flavours, although the Vegan NXT Milk Chocolate Hazelnut was a strong contender. For my American partner, the Vegan Peanut Butter Jelly evoked fond memories from home.
And if doughnuts aren’t your only sweet craving, their Soft Serve Sundae Cups are a must-try. Options like Sea Salt Caramel, Warm Malt Chocolate S’mores, and Jammy Doughnuts promise a delightful treat. I will have to go back to try these! Sometimes I love my job!
Longboys was established in 2019 by renowned pastry chefs Graham Hornigold and Heather Kaniuk, who felt they could give Doughnuts a unique twist. I think they’ve done a splendid job by marring the lightness of Brioche with fresh fillings. They have Vegan, Dairy-Free and Nut-Free options available. Happy days!

To find out more, visit the Longboys website. Their address is Unit 16, Bagley Walk Arches, Coal Drops Yard, London NIC 4DH, a short walk from Kings Cross Station. The current opening times listed are 9 am until 7 pm from Monday to Saturday and 10 am until 6 pm on Sundays. They also serve Coffee, so it’s a great place to stop for Coffee and Doughnuts if you’re shopping at Coal Drops Yard. The interiors are cute, with bare brick walls and a counter displaying the Doughnuts. You can sit inside or on the outside tables and chairs in Coal Drops Yard, which is traffic-free.
