Restaurant Review: Levan Restaurant. This is a lovely all-day dining spot located in the heart of Peckham. They serve Seasonal Contemporary European dishes with natural wines. If you’re looking for the best restaurants in Peckham or places for dinner in SE15, you should book a table at the Levan Restaurant.
“We loved our lunch at Levan, the perfect Peckham restaurant for inventive seasonal dishes in a relaxed dining space with great music,” Homegirl London.

The website says the food focuses on Contemporary European Dishes inspired by the Bistronomy Movement and their favourite eateries in all the cool European cities. Start with a snack of Sourdough with Whipped Butter, House Cured Sardines, Duck Rillettes with Cornichons or Jambon de Bayonne. We selected the Mushroom Tempura with a delicate and delightfully crispy batter. The Sesame Vinaigrette was perfect; I just wanted to dip, dip, dippity, dip all day.

From the sharing section, we ordered the Purple Sprouting Broccoli with Almonds, Cream and Apple. This tasted wholesome, fresh and light. The Burrata with Pear, Mustard Seeds and Jerusalem Artichoke was terrific. The Pear worked well against the Creamy Burrata. My favourite was the Caramelised Celeriac Ravioli with Dashi Butter and Buckwheat that has now been stored in my fond food memory bank to be recalled when I need a food fantasy. Other sharing dishes included Potato Galette with Green Salad, Monkfish Crudo and Mussels with Leeks and ‘Nduja and Roast Cauliflower with Kale and Parmesan.

We were pretty full but decided to try the Pear and Black Cardamom Mille-Feuille; this was cute and gone in a flash. Other desserts included Apple Tarte Tatin with Crème Fraiche, Dark Chocolate Mousse with Malt Ice Cream and Blood Orange Campari Sorbet.

To give you an idea of price points, the Snacks are £2.5-8.5, Sharing Dishes £7.5-16.5, Desserts £6.50. If you can’t make your mind up, you could order the Chef’s Menu, which is five courses for the whole table to share, priced at £41 per person. They also have cheese! The wine list is worth exploring with a curated collection from France, Italy, Spain and Germany, which are low intervention, organic and biodynamic.

Restaurant Interior
I loved the interiors, which are small yet cosy. The walls are painted beautiful blue, and they have a shelving section which separates the dining area from the bar and open kitchen. You can sit at the counter on comfy stools or at the intimate tables. The music selection was perfect. The restaurant’s name is because the owners were fans of Larry Levan, the American DJ!
