Lunch At Bread Ahead Bakery Pavilion Road London SW1

Last weekend, I was at Bread Ahead on Pavilion Road in London SW1. It’s a favourite spot of mine known for its irresistible doughnuts, which I often enjoy from their Borough Market stall. My initial visit was for their Bridge Rolls, but seeing their tempting Sourdough Pizza made me return for a taste. Bread Ahead Bakery is a top choice for anyone searching for the best bakeries near Kings Road, places for lunch on Pavilion Road or cafes close to Sloane Square in Chelsea.

The renowned Doughnuts at Bread Ahead are a treat any time of the day. If they have it, my top pick is the Praline or Velvet Chocolate. However, every flavour, including Raspberry, Coconut and Gingerbread (a Christmas special), is fabulous. Their doughnuts, priced at £4.50 for dine-in, are always fresh, fluffy and generously filled.

The Basque Cheesecake I tried was incredibly creamy, and you can expect to pay around £4 to £6.50 for a cake.

On my second visit, I indulged in their Sourdough Pizza, which was exceptional. The Pumpkin, Caramelised Onion, Feta and Balsamic Sauce were incredible. Other vegetarian options included Margherita, Roasted Mushroom with Spinach and Pesto, or Aubergine with Mozzarella and Pesto. Meat options like Spicy Chicken and Pepperoni are also available. Pizza prices range from £6.50 to £7.50 per slice and £22 to £30 for a whole one.

For a smaller savoury option, their Bridge Rolls are perfect. I tried the Cream Cheese with Cucumber and the Tomato with Mozzarella and Basil Pesto. They also offer Pastrami, Horseradish and Sweet Dill Pickles. Other treats are Focaccia sandwiches or Sausage Rolls. Check out the Sourdough Breads to take home, like White, Wholemeal, and 100% Rye with Mixed Grains, priced at £4.50 to £4.75.
