I recently visited Fink’s Salt and Sweet for lunch in Highbury on the edge of Finsbury Park along Mountgrove Road, which leads to Clissold Park. I usually find myself in the area monthly, visiting Tiny Hair and Beauty just down the street, making Fink’s my perfect stop for a bite before my facial. Fink’s has changed over the years; originally a full café, it suffered a flood and reopened as a takeaway spot before reintroducing some indoor seating. If you’re searching for a cosy café in Highbury, Finsbury Park, or near Clissold Park, Fink’s Salt and Sweet is definitely worth a visit.
“Fabulously filling sandwiches, incredible cakes and excellent coffee make Fink’s Salt and Sweet the place to seek out if you find yourself between Finsbury Park and Highbury,” Homegirl London.
Fink’s Salt and Sweet Menu
Fink’s typically offers a rotating selection of fresh and delicious sandwiches. On my last visit, I savoured the roasted aubergines with labneh on Dusty Knuckle sourdough. If you check out their Instagram, you’ll find other enticing options like slow-cooked duck leg, fried chicken on a homemade milk bun, or miso egg mayo with sesame seeds and crispy shallots on potato sourdough. They always cater to both vegan and meat lovers alike.
Even if the sandwiches fill you up, it’s worth saving room for one of their delightful sweet treats. They offer a tempting range, including a triple chocolate cookie, tahini brownies, oatmeal walnut and chocolate candied orange cake, coffee cardamom and hazelnut cake, plum frangipane tart, strawberry vanilla cupcakes and chocolate espresso cake. Wow, everything looks so amazing, it’s difficult to choose.
I can vouch for the mango and vanilla cupcakes and buttermilk banana bread. Actually, I can vouch for more, but I don’t want to admit it!
Pair your treat with a hot or iced Scenery coffee, depending on your preference. They also serve tea and soft drinks.
