Marble furniture is always luxurious. This material has been a cultural symbol of refined taste since Roman times and is still held in high esteem today. Check into any five-star hotel around the world and the staircases and bathrooms will be covered in this rock. Recent interior trends have favoured marble table tops for dining tables, coffee tables and side tables. If you want a slice (or should that be slab!) of decadence in your own home, here are my favourite marble furniture pieces.

Marble Furniture Material Information
According to Wikipedia, marble is a non-foliated metamorphic rock which is composed of recrystallised carbonate materials, mainly calcite or dolomite. Marble can differ in colouring and is usually white with blue-grey veins or black with white veins but can also be yellow, green, pink or red. It was often used for sculptures because it is easy to carve and doesn’t shatter easily. Another popular use is in construction, for example, staircases and bathroom tiling. The main countries producing this material are firstly Italy, followed by China, India and Spain.
