I was invited to take a tour of the Bow River Village Show Home earlier this week. This extensive residential development is in East London overlooking the River Lea. With a mix of sales, shared ownership, affordable and private rent plus social housing, this is a community which seems to have got the right mix. Find out what I thought about the Bow River Village Show Home.
Bow River Village Show Home
I love looking around properties, and I should have been an estate agent! The apartment I inspected at Bow River Village has two bedrooms. In through the door and I spotted a cupboard, so I just had to take a peek inside. It’s a huge cupboard, so I immediately got excited! It’s an excellent place for your washing machine with plenty of room for a separate tumble drier, coats, shoes, pushchair, bicycle and anything else you need to store.
The hallway was a decent size with room for a small console table. The main bathroom was near the front door, which had ample space. There was a bath with a shower above, decorated in neutral tones. The two bedrooms were large enough for a wardrobe, bedside tables plus additional storage and a little dressing table. The master bedroom had an ensuite which is the dream scenario.
Into the open plan living room, kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is fitted with quality handle-less units and integrated appliances with a thoughtful layout. You have room for a small table which could seat four to five people. A chaise lounge sofa would be perfect for the seating arrangement and perhaps a cute cocktail chair.
Open Plan Living
Overall, I thought the space for a two-bedroom apartment was on the generous side for the price. The layout and flow worked well. Style-wise, it was Scandi contemporary in neutral tones so you could put your stamp on it.
All properties come with private balconies, offering sweeping views of either the River Lea, the communal gardens or the surrounding neighbourhood. The flats overlooking The River Lea are the most coveted and are well worth a look.
Bow River Village Phase Two Properties Available
The development is by Southern Space the sales division of Southern Housing Group, which is one of the oldest and largest Housing Associations in the South East of England. This is their flagship regeneration scheme which is well underway.
Open Plan Kitchen Diner
Phase one is completely sold. Phase two launches 26 January 2019 with 73 apartments for private sale with a starting price of £370,000. There is a Help To Buy Event Saturday 26 January 2019. 16 Shared Ownership and 23 affordable rent will also be available in 2019. There are additional phases in the pipeline for another 400 new homes. This development is ideal for first-time buyers, second steppers who may want somewhere larger and young families.
Bow River Village Location
This location is super exciting. It’s urban so you get to be near the River Lea, which is tranquil and peaceful. The nearest station is Bromley by Bow which is a short walk away. It is easy to get to Liverpool Street and King’s Cross.
Bow River Village Overlooks River Lea
There is a lot of fantastic things to do close by which include: shopping at Westfield Stratford, visiting the Olympic Park and walking around Victoria Park. The surrounding area has a lot of regeneration happening so expect to see new shops, restaurants and cafes opening up in the vicinity. You can find out more at the Bow River Village Website.
