Pop into the Peggy Porschen Cakes Parlour next time you’re shopping in Belgravia. It’s a pretty place to sit down and enjoy one of Peggy’s perfect cupcakes and sip a cup of tea or glass of champagne. Peggy is an award-winning cake designer and high society baker with a long list of royal and celebrity clients. If you want to sample cute cupcakes and luscious layer cakes head to the Peggy Porschen Cakes Parlour on the corner of Ebury Street and Elizabeth Street.
Peggy Porschen Cakes Parlour Menu
In the parlour, you’ll see a glass counter displaying pretty cupcakes for you to choose. I’ll name a few to give you an idea of what to expect; Red Velvet, Chocolate Heaven, Banoffee, Cookies and Cream, Chocolate Salted Caramel, Strawberry and Champagne, Vanilla Rice Crispy, Blueberry and Buttermilk and Lemon and Raspberry. I’ve tried a couple of cupcakes at the parlour recently, which were delicious. The Strawberry and Champagne version featured vanilla sponge which was soaked with champagne syrup and then filled with strawberry and champagne reserve. This is topped off with cream cheese and Marc de Champagne frosting and a slice of fresh strawberry. It was the perfect summer cake.
Strawberry and Champagne Cupcake
On my previous visit, I sampled the Chocolate Salted Caramel Cupcake. This was incredible thanks to the chocolate sponge hand filled with salted caramel. The caramel cream cheese frosting was sprinkled with toasted hazelnuts and broken pieces of toffee. It’s undoubtedly a cupcake to dream about, which I often do! It’s not all cupcakes, my friend Alan tried the Crunch Cake which he loved. You can also bag yourself a slice of the larger cakes if you wanted to be decadent. These include Dark Chocolate Truffle, Salted Caramel and Red Velvet. You can wash down your cake down with a cup of artisan tea or a coffee. If you’re in a mood to celebrate order a glass of Laurent Perrier Cuveé Rosé Champagne. Cheers!
Chocolate Crunch
You can order a wide selection of cakes from the website. These include those I have mentioned above plus birthday cakes, wedding cakes, engagement cakes celebration cupcakes and personalised image cakes.
Peggy Porschen Cakes Parlour Interiors
The parlour is situated on a corner of Ebury Street and Elizabeth Street in Belgravia. It has been painted an adorable shade of pink so you can’t miss it. A display of pretty flowers is presented in an arch around the doorway which is a nice touch. If the weather is beautiful, there will be a few tables and chairs outside the shop. Inside you will see the glass counter displaying all the yummy cupcakes and layer cakes. Place your order and find a table. There are only a few tables inside so you may not get a seat. I’ve been lucky on the occasions I have visited. The interior décor is contemporary and cute. There are large windows on two sides because of the corner positioning of the shop, so it is always bright inside.
Parlour Interior
The decoration is mainly in the display of the items on the shelving, which includes bags of confectionery and cake books. It’s a lovely place to sit down after a shopping expedition and treat yourself to a cake and pot of tea.
