Plant-Based Breakfast Menu At Kin Cafe
Indulge in nourishing bowls like the coconut milk oat porridge adorned with bananas and a luscious berry compote. Alternatively, opt for the vibrant acai bowl teeming with granola, fresh berries, toasted coconut, and peanut or almond butter.
For those craving a hearty morning meal, the Kin house breakfast awaits. It features eggs (I asked for well-done fried eggs), halloumi, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, avocado, spinach, and homestyle sweet potato or butternut squash hash. I loved every mouthful, and it was such a generous helping that I didn’t need to eat anything else for the rest of the day. For a vegan version, swap eggs and halloumi for tofu to experience the same delightful flavours. Don’t miss the Kin hash, a version of the house breakfast.
Explore further with options like omelettes bursting with olives or mushrooms, accompanied by spinach, mature cheddar and sourdough toast. Or try the shakshuka served with avocado, labneh coconut yoghurt and flatbread. Their burrito, packed with sweet potato, kale, avocado, refried beans, tofu scramble and a zesty sauce, promises a burst of flavour in every bite.
On one of my visits, I indulged in the vegan pancakes generously adorned with bananas, mixed berries, coconut yoghurt and almond butter. These pancakes were super tasty; the almond butter elevated them. Next time, I’ll sample the equally delightful vegan waffles with a similar tantalising topping.
For breakfast, you’ll probably enjoy one of the juices or smoothies ranging from the healthy nutter to yellow sunshine, and they also have vegan milkshakes. With a collection of coffees, teas and soft drinks, there is something for everyone. If you fancy a cocktail, beer, cider or glass of wine, you’ll find a few tipples to tempt you.
You can discover savoury offerings such as chickpea curry or lentil soup for lunch. Ensure you peruse the takeaway counter with tempting selections like fattoush salad, spicy potatoes, gnocchi and more. As evening descends, the menu incorporates vegan burgers, avocado, yucca, or polenta fries, and an array of small plates from crispy avocado tacos to vegan shrimp and chicken. You’ll want to save room for dessert, featuring indulgences like cheesecake, vegan ice cream and chocolate brownies.
