Seasonal Dinner At Dockley Road Kitchen London SE16

My partner and I recently enjoyed a delicious seasonal dinner at Dockley Road Kitchen in Bermondsey with two friends from our Supper Club Four. We are four people who meet once a month to try local restaurants with our dogs in tow. We were eager to try Dockley Road Kitchen, which sits in the heart of Spa Terminus, a food and drink trade area in London SE16, where you’ll find the likes of Neal’s Yard Dairy, Natoora and Maltby & Greek. If you’re looking for restaurants serving the best seasonal ingredients and sharing flavourful small plates with friends, Dockley Road Kitchen in Bermondsey, London SE16, is well worth exploring.

Dockley Road Kitchen Seasonal and Local Inspired Dinner Menu

The menu focuses on seasonal small plates and is built around produce from the surrounding Spa Terminus businesses, which immediately made the whole experience feel connected to the area. Since we were sharing dishes among the four of us, I mostly tucked into the vegetarian options while the others also enjoyed the fish and meat dishes.

Our meal got off to a great start with the Panisse with Pea Mayo, which turned out to be chickpea fritters, and they were delightful. The Confit Spring Garlic with St Jude cheese and toast showcased the soft Norfolk cow’s milk cheese, from Neal’s Yard Dairy, one of Spa Terminus’ best-known traders.

dockley road kitchen asparagus and nettle sauce

The asparagus with nettle sauce looked striking when it landed on the table, thanks to the vivid green sauce. Everything tasted fresh and distinctly seasonal, with the earthy nettles giving the dish depth while the asparagus still kept its bite.

Alongside that, we shared the artichoke, courgette, peas, ricotta and mint dish, which felt lighter and brighter. The peas added sweetness, while the mint lifted everything nicely without overpowering the vegetables.

One of my favourite sides of the evening turned out to be the Dauphinois “Cacio e Pepe”. It honestly looked more like a dessert when it arrived, so glossy and creamy. The sauce coated every layer of potato, while the black pepper cut through the richness.

Across the table, the crab ravioli with green curry disappeared quickly and earned plenty of praise for its balance of delicate crab and fragrant spice.

Dessert ended the evening on a comforting note. My partner and I both chose the almond and hazelnut bread-and-butter pudding with custard, an elevated interpretation of the British pudding.

dockley road kitchen panna cotta and rhubarb

I would’ve liked to try the crème fraîche panna cotta with rhubarb too, although it contained animal gelatine so wasn’t suitable for us.

Our friend ordered the affogato with malted shortbread and appreciated that decaf coffee was available.
Small plates started from around £14 while larger dishes went up to £29, with desserts priced between £5 and £10.

The drinks list leaned towards low-intervention wines, local beers and classic aperitifs, which suited the relaxed Bermondsey setting perfectly. There was everything from cava and skin-contact wines to cocktails, including Negronis and margaritas, alongside beers from nearby Kernel Brewery.
