Salt Yard Small Plates Menu
My partner opted for the Tempura Cod from the fish section with charcoal piri piri and pepporanata. Additionally, he had the pleasure of sampling the Halibut Ceviche featuring raisins, caper puree, pickled grapes and kikones (giant-sized corn kernels). While he had high praise for both dishes, the latter truly stood out. The menu also boasts other delectable seafood options such as Roasted Scallops, Robata Grilled Stone Bass, and Prawns ‘Pil Pil’. The Day Boat Catch is an excellent option for those seeking a more substantial seafood experience.
Although we didn’t explore the meat selection on this occasion, it’s worth noting that they offer enticing small plates such as Rose Veal Milanese, Corn Fed Chicken Pintxo and Grilled Chorizo Picante. Those looking for heartier options can indulge in the Grilled Iberico Abanico accompanied by piquillo pepper puree and crispy pork skin or the Rubia Gallega Beef Sirloin weighing 400 grams and served with mojo verde.
We also had the pleasure of sharing a few small vegetarian plates. I particularly enjoyed the Courgette Flower with goat cheese mousse and honey. The Burrata with Spanish peaches, smoked almonds, and oregano was delightful.
However, my favourite was the Pea and Shallot Tortellini with spinach, fennel and pea velouté. It was a gorgeous green, and the taste was a treat for my tastebuds. The entire vegetarian selection was filled with tempting options. I’m looking forward to returning to try the Aubergine Parmigiana with buffalo mozzarella and basil.
Regarding dessert, we found it impossible to choose between the Churros and Gianduia Doughnuts. Ultimately, we decided to indulge in both and were not disappointed. Alternatively, try the Strawberries with Prosecco or Vanilla and Chamomile Pannacotta with raspberry coulis.
Check out the signature cocktails featuring the Salt Yard Cooker and The Winchester Sour. They also serve Spanish and Italian Wine and Gin along with Vermouth. We opted for the refreshing Homemade Lemonade.
