Stem and Glory is a vegan restaurant a few minute’s walk from the Museum of London and St Paul’s Cathedral serving plant-based food. We ate at Stem and Glory on Saturday and sat outside in the pedestrianised square which was quiet and relaxing. The food is delicious, and you won’t even think that there is no meat, fish, poultry or dairy. It’s the perfect place for a date night or weekend lunch with a friend or your partner. Check it out if you are looking for the best vegan restaurants in London, places to eat lunch near St Paul’s Cathedral or near the Museum of London.

Stem and Glory Vegan Lunch Menu
We shared the Kimchi Pancakes to start. These were super cute little fluffy, savoury pancakes with pickled kimchi and Korean Jang sauce. They disappeared so quickly that I wondered if it was a dream that they arrived. I’m kidding, of course, they came, but they didn’t last long! Other starters or small plates include a Trio of Dips with Multiseed Crackers, BBQ Cauliflower Wings, Black Rice and Lentil Bon Bons and Asian Watermelon Salad.
For our mains, we divided up a Swede Gnocchi, which was delicious and looked adorable. Roasted chestnut mushrooms accompanied the swede gnocchi in a fake gorgonzola cream. Other ingredients included spinach, walnuts, yellow carrot curls and micro sage. I do like swede, but you rarely see it on a menu, so I was glad it was included. The other large plate was a Dirty Burger, although it wasn’t very ‘dirty’ because it was a protein pattie. The soft bun was layered with lettuce, tomatoes, fermented pickle, ketchup and sriracha mayo inside. It was served with a portion of potato fries on the side which were particularly yummy. Other mains included Shakshuka and Baked Tofu Yakitori. The other option was to try a Lunch Bowl such as the Yogi Bowl with golden hummus, quinoa tabbouleh, grilled tofu and more. We did consider the Kimchi Tortilla Bowl but chose the pancakes instead.
Please save a little room for dessert. We are still reminiscing about the Chocolate and Avocado Torte with roasted hazelnuts and orange coulis. It was rich, decadent, and divine. I’ve never tried chocolate with avocado before, but it works wonderfully well. Other sweet treats include Baked Raspberry Cheesecake (obviously without the cheese), Sticky Toffee Pudding, Fudge Brownie Sundae, Affogato and Ice Cream.
Small Plates/Starters cost £7.50-8, and Lunch Bowls are £12-12.50, Large Plates/Mains are £12-14 while Desserts cost £6-8.50. I thought the prices were reasonable considering the quality of ingredients, inventive menu and presentation. Lunch set menus are available during the week. The dinner menu is similar to the lunch menu but with a few additions to the mains. They also have a pizza menu on the website, but I am not sure when that is available, we weren’t given it at lunch, so perhaps it’s for dinner?
